Thats assuming everyone only puts points into reducing physical damage... which they won't. My example was what most players will probably sit around with CP

10% is just 27 point investment though. they will invest more in it. quite sure of that.
hmmm what i see is that now we have:
Hardy: This ability now reduces Poison, Disease, and Physical Damage dealt to you, instead of Poison, Disease, and Magical Damage.
Heavy Weapon Expert: This ability now increases your damage against damage shields, instead of increasing your damage with maces and axes. We also renamed this ability to Shattering Blows.
That means that now there is no CP to mitigate magical damage, but yes to mitigate physical... I don't understand why they change one for the other instead of make it balance and have the option to mitigate both kind of damage...
and the other thing is that now they nerfed all damage shields in the sense that now we have CP to increase our damage against them.

Yes, this is something I always wanted, rightfully gameplay, with balanced classes with magicka and stamina builds. I don't like broken mechanics either, I play with honor.
But, why do you say stamina builds got nerfed? i don't see big changes affecting stamina builds, they just did some touchs and fixes... but nothing more...

Ah didnt realise this was such a low CP investment lol i just pulled a number off in my head. Thanks for the specific data! Then yes people will put more into it it was just an example guuuuuys.

Let me break this down for you. Stamina was barely on par with magika before and now its not even close.
The first issue is that magika builds only need elemental expert to increase their damage while most stamina builds will need that one and mighty. Most ultimates do magic damage and a lot of abilities that stamina players use do magic or elemental damage (killers blade and unstable flame for example).
Secondly, magika users can now reduce physical damage and really dont need to worry about hardy, because of their natuarally high spell resist with light armor and harness.
Third, with the cp cap what stamina build will have enough points to invest in that new shield busting star.
So roll magika or gtfo.

Im gonna disagree on the mag or GTFO. I DO see me switching back to a MagDK when this goes live, but I wanna see the changes as they get closer to live before making any commitments.
This is coming from the standpoint of a current stamDK: I get most of my damage from weapon abilities which focus mainly on physical damage, BIS ulti for me now is take flight/WW/FDB. Take flight because its all phys damage, WW for the regen and uber burst damage when in groups, but I only slot the dawnbreaker for the extra weapon damage and don't really rely on the ulti as a finisher thus not relying on spending CP to increase its magical damage.
I can see SOME, but not ALL stam builds switching over simply because its looks like it will be another option/style to play which has some viability. With the CP changes there isn't really a need to spec too much if any points into the two stars (shattering and mighty) to be able to be viable. You can still go grapenuts into mighty and be able to rock the damage as before. Now you have another tree to go after shield stackers, but its not required.
I feel that they got it right condensing the stars to cover the mitigation from either a magicka based or physical based damage. It looks like it will keep you from splitting stars (which as a magDK you had to do prior to the TG patch) and that's the main benefit from this. Not to diminish one style of play, but to give viability to both.
TBH if you think stam builds were NOT on par with mag in the current patch...you need to L2P better cause they are very good right now....stam blade? stamDK? stamSorc? these are all builds people are currently running in PVP and they can hold their own very well. I can't say anything about PVE, but I have seen people clear vVMA with stam builds so it can't be all bad.
