New AP vendor DOES sell helms

I just went back and checked the AP vendor to see wether or not it changes daily on the PTS and it had it is currently selling infused Maw of the infernal helms as wel as 2 of the new set piece gloves (in divines)

So it looks like you will be able to buy the head and the shoulder but not at the same time, since both days have been infused we will have to wait and see wether the trait changes as its been infused for both head and shoulders so far

the part i don't get the gloves are 59k gold or 200k ap and the helmets are 99.9 k gold or 200k ap.
can you explain this or is this another example of the random numbers you pluck from the sky?

Ty for the info.
But as I feared... one has to camp the bloody vendor until the right item pops out.
You better not be out of town or otherwise unavailable when the piece you want is in the rotation.
And it's in Cyrodiil which depending on your available time slot for playing/campaign selections might force you through lengthy queues every time for nothing.
What a crap design.

Those prices are far too low considering you can run 100+ vet dungeons and still not get a helm.....or blow 50-100 keys and still not get the shoulder with the trait you are looking for.

This game is turning into GW2 and WOW where you earn nothing by playing the harder content and just buy everything with currency off some trading post or npc...

People will always choose this method over RNG bad luck. RIP Dungeons, guna be harder to get groups now.

I bet the costs are higher once it is fully released.

Usually I blow all my spendable AP on wall repairs, siege & soul gems... so nearly all my PVP characters have zero spendable AP left. However one character I have been saving the AP for an Akaviri motif & she has 229k spendable AP accumulated... so I guess she is gonna get a monster hat now

Ermehgerd I have to look at something once a day. You have friends, if you're away have them check and buy for you. (Forgot about BOP! Sorry!)

Well bummer. Oh shoot forgot about BoP sorry, and if you have real life that trumps game (I often do) then tough for you. Same for anyone else with any sort of real life.

However you've basically been given helms/shoulders on a silver platter and if you want something, then you should log in once every 24 hours.

I'm afraid I really have no sympathy here

This makes me a sad panda...I'm with the others that say this is way to easy to get. What this is telling me is that instead of doing the dungeons to maybe get a drop at all, maybe get it in the right trait and the right weight, I can just spend half a day farming and make enough money to buy it instead.

I'm still against it existing in the first place, but now that it's definitely staying it should be drastically increased in price. They should be a nice alternative that gives you a definite chance of getting the weight/maybe trait you want for the PvPers and people who are sick of the RNG grind, but should still cost a very pretty penny.

And honestly, if they are going to make them that cheap, they might as well just let us sell the damn things ourselves. That way you can at least have an incentive to run dungeons in order to make coin..

I personally wouldn't mind if they are going to make monster shoulders buyable since the way to obtain it is pure luck from chests but helm? I am against it. I feel like they are starting to just giving a handout.

You can't buy the highest tier armor in GW2. Yes you can buy all the components to make em but it costs... and the fact that you need to have max lvl crafting to craft em. And to buy legendary weapons you'd need to spend hundreds of dollars of real money to get the gold to buy. Yes you could buy thousands of dollars worth of gems, but who in their right mind would do that? Not to mention that most gear is character bound or account bound on equip you can't just sell back expensive stuff like that. So the really expensive stuff just sits there.

Also you do earn stuff in the higher lvl content but that's gold you make by selling the stuff you find. Nothing besides certain story rewards and highest level crafted armor is bound on pickup. So rather than be stuck with the same item you don't want (or can't use )over and over, you can actually sell it.

Dynamic events, daily achievements and real achievement rewards, real world bosses (not the pitiful excuses ESO has). There always feel like there is something to actually do rather than run the same dungeons or trials over and over and over like in ESO.

Sure the game has it's bugs but Anet has a lot more competent QA team than ESO does, though that's not hard.

I've run every dungeon multiple times when WGT was the pledge I ran on 4 chars morning from 8 keys and no helms, yesterday I must of run WGT 10 times reinforced helm, I've run this dungeon hundreds of times since it came out and still no infused helm, got 4 divines, some reinforced loads of well fitted but never infused, so I'm happy to be able to buy them for 200k AP

same goes with my shoulder I'm still on a infused Kena shoulder which I got when I opened all my keys I saved second I hit v16, again probably run over 100 keys and nothing since, I even ran all 8 chars though way rest one day hoping for helm/ shoulder drop and nothing I'm bored of it, I just wanna buy it and gear myself properly, and if it's through the AP vendor fine that's what I'll use but I would much prefer a token system from the actual dungeons themselves

Because rng or not You still gotta farm his spawn times in hopes of the right trait and helm combo which despite the buyable option is pretty hardcore rng who knows when engine guardian or molag kena or even blood spawn will appear divine or infused will appear? Atleast a dungeon you can selective farm a specific boss for a helm. So I think it balances out and it lets pvpers stay in pvp rather than learning to run a dungeon and its fights Just to get a helm and as a trade off we get alliabce skills easier so the pvers can stay outta l2p gitgud world once we got the skills from alliance

I think the prices are fine at least the AP one for me anyways, considering the fact that you still need to wait ages to get the right helmet and shoulder trait combo. Let's say you want a blood spawn helm with impen and a kena shoulder with divines.

There's nothing stopping RNG from screwing you over the same way it already does on boss drops/chests. You can end up waiting 12, 24, 36, insert X amount of weeks before getting what you want. You can have blood spawn be the set 3 weeks in a row and still not get the trait you need. Or you can have the set you want not appear for multiple weeks for it to finally appear in WELL FITTED.

I know ZOS far too well to know they aren't going to drop well-fitted from the loot table. And the RNG factor in all honesty is still considerable for the AP price. You really have to factor in the fact that it's random trait and the vendor only appears a few times a week. Now if the vendor was there everyday than you could raise the price to say 500k AP. And I know ZOS would never do this, but if I could pick my own trait and the vendor was there everyday I'd find 1-2mil AP acceptable.

Adhazabi will always appear during this first PTS update, but will only be visible during limited days and times once Thieves Guild goes live.

So with 20 undaunted items (10 shoulder, 10 head), you will probably need one to two month to get what do you want, and you need to be connected at the good moment.
