I haven't seen a thread about this on the general forums (forgive me if I missed it).
You may want to spread the word as of now, Once the Thieves Guild DLC goes live folks who are running video cards that are not capable of running Direct X 11 will no longer be able to play The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. This is part of the base game patch so it will affect everyone on PC who does not have a card capable of running Direct X 11.
Not sure how many folks this will impact but I'm sure there will be a few.
ZOS is welcome to correct me on this if I have gotten it wrong.

✭✭If you are unsure if your video card is DirectX 11 compatible, it is fairly easy to find out for sure as DirectX has a diagnostic tool.
In the Start Menu search for and run DXDiag.exe
Choose the Display Tab (There may be more than one)
The "Feature Levels" (sometimes listed as DDI version) will tell you the versions of Direct X your card can handle.

✭This isnt going to be relevant to people's problems since DirectX 11 compatabile cards go all the way back to the nvidia GTX400 series and the radeon HD5000 series...
If you have a card that old trying to play a modern game, you have other problems to worry about.

Are you sure about that? Because unless the user physically goes into user settings file and changes SET GraphicsDriver.7 to D3D9 then everyone will already be running on D3D11.
I'm concerned, I use a laptop and Intel has stated my on board graphics is DX9, but according to DXdiag, on display it showing I can use up to version 10.1 and on the system tab I have directX version 11.1. Oh and checking the user settings file I know the game is running D3D11. I'd advise people to check the user settings file first to see what version of DX the game is running on before delving into DXdiag.I, as a loyal member of the Foamy Cult, do solemnly swear to live a logical life free of stupidity, ignorance and all round jack assery. ✭✭DirectX 11 cards have been out since 2009, so... the chances of people having cards limit to DirectX 9 should be pretty much few and far between. I can't imagine too many people will be affected by the change.0 -

✭The game more or less requires DX11 since update 6 already, at least DX9 caused a lot of trouble ever since update 6 was out. I don't know who still runs the game on DX9 now or why.
The minium requirement for the graphics card is Nvidia Geforce 460 (which happens to be the one I have) which IS DX11 compatible. So why would anyone want to go back to 9?
Maybe they only mentioned this in the patch notes because the update might overwrite the DX9 entry in the usersettings file with DX11 for good now, who knows.

I play on quite an old computer, the game runs fine on lower settings. Once the Thieves Guild patch releases you cannot even launch the game if you don't have a DX11 compatible card. Honestly I don't think I ever looked at the minimum requirements once the game went Live because I downloaded and played beta with no problem, but yes, my system is long overdue an upgrade. (bought this system in 2009, must've just missed those first DX11 cards!)
Just don't want anyone to get a nasty surprise on patch day when they cannot play at all (doubly nasty surprise if they happen to be subscribers!)Edited by Mix on February 5, 2016 2:20PM0
