Yes, the PTS just came out and we all have seen the patch notes. There are some good changes; and there are some concerning ones.

Yet all you see on the forums are QQ threads. Why nerf this, why nerf that, death of NBs, death of Templar Healers, Mag Sorc OP, Mag Sorcs dead because shields can take more damage than before... There is no end to the myriad of whines and complaints. I get it, some of the things we love about our favorite class, whatever it may be, will change. Some changes will be for the better, and some for the worse. And, as always, it seems the devs are making changes to balance PvP with less regard for how those changes will effect PvE.

Please remember tho, this is the first change in what will inevitably be a series of patches making changes before things go live.

So, rather than all the cry baby BS, how about you PC players get on the PTS (wish I could, but I am console) and start testing things. Then, write a detailed, unbiased, constructive review of what you are experiencing so that we can help steer the devs in a direction that will appease the largest percentage of the player base (because it is impossible to make everyone happy).

If I cannot sort the honest reviews from all the cry baby BS threads, then how can we expect the devs to??!

    question one where did you see QQ about sorc shield. because what i have seen sorc gain no defense drops while getting more damage and all others getting nerfed?

    New CP changes adds more damage against targets with damage shields.

    I have been reading most the threads, and this issue is discussed in a lot of them.

    Mag Sorcs rely on shields; that's no secret. Shields take more damage now in two ways...a CP specifically increasing your damage against shields, plus shields now take dot dmg. Yes, there are plenty ways to mitigate damage via the CP restructure. But remember that spill over damage on a shield bypasses all mitigations on the tgt. So, Sorcs may end up being a lot squishier. Not sure yet.

    OK, let me take a stab at a constructive review for you..

    This patch is better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

    How was that?

    There is no cure for whining I'm afraid. It's just the way of world. Even if there was nothing to really whine about, they will still whine.

    That being said, some of the concerns are legitimate enough. It's just hard to tell sometimes.

    Indeed, lol. Mid 30s and still playing video games. That will forever be my gamertag.

    None the less, you wont find me crying about stuff on the forums. Sure wish everyone else would chill a bit some as well. I would love to see some unbiased, constructive reviews and discussions aimed at helping make changes for the better in future PTS patches.

    BTW, you get an 'awesome' from me :p, I can roll with the punches ;)

    I agree, there are lots of legitimate concerns based upon the patch notes. I have them as well. However, there is a tactful way to address the issue with the devs, then there is the QQ way.

    i ahve stated this in other threads aswell but ill repeat it here. although the shield might be destroyed faster the health drop of a sorc slower because of the 25% less physical damage. their hp and shield are roughly the same. i didn't add this in other thread because it just came to me, add that with healing ward that increases your strenght of your shield when lower health you have more time and activations of this shield making you actually have more "health"

    Fwiw, in the PTS forum the devs created threads just for feedback and it seems like the majority of posts are from people that tested/are testing and are giving constructive feedback. Sure there's some "y u do dis ZoS?" in there too (as expected!), but a lot of it seems like people genuinely testing and sharing the good and bad. But I agree there's a whoooolllleee lotta negative out here in general today.

    I'm also a console player and would love the opportunity to test, so reading the feedback over on the PTS thread is pretty, erm, exciting? I don't get out much. Can you even believe I get internet under this rock? ;)

    Just wanted to point you to a less hostile environment if you really want to see what the testers are up to!

    But again, If I have 3k left on my shield, and you hit me with a WB for 10k, I will take 7k damage. All damage in excess of the shield, i.e. spill over damage, bypasses mitigations, so the physical damage reduction does nothing for that hit, or any DoT that is still ticking.

    Back to my original point, we are all simply reacting to patch notes without actually playing the PTS and seeing the reality of it. We need to test things, then write unbiased, constructive reviews. Whining because of our interpretation of patch notes accomplishes nothing. Not to mention, this is the first patch. There will be several more. The devs will inevitably make many changes before things go live. If we don't like something, and we can validate our concern via PTS test play, then we can approach the devs in a more tactful way to try to get changes. QQ solves nothing.

    So anyone know what happens with DOTS and damage shields? Does the DOT apply to the shield or right onto the char? If it applies onto the shield then what happens if it is re-casted?
