this will ease the lag i'm hoping
I'm not confident. IMO, the main underlying issues are the size of our resource pools and the speed at which they regen. Retreating Maneuver and Purge will simply be spammed more often, perhaps by builds optimized for regen.
RIP ungrouped players @ keep battles without purge slotted.
Rapid Maneuvers hitting infinite targets....
is now capped to group only
Purge now capped to 6
Barriers capped at 6
Things like that I would hope would ease the lag. They may be spammed more, but they will still hit 6 targets.

Straight up blizzard nerf on cloak. Sad for a Mag NB since beta that all the mag dks rerolked NB and got my class nerfed hard. We will adapt but in the way they set the game up cloak is one of a mag blades only defensive moves. Now everyone will just spam magelight. Mag NB gonna be best group dps though with cp and proxy change. Sorcs too. BOL nerf gonna bring back more resto heals to get negated.

Who needs cloak if you are able to insta knockout a group as nightblade?

That was said in 1.6. Offensively they are better but purify was huge for their defense and that's gone with nothing to replace it.
The purify change will take a lot of getting used to. At least in 1v1 from my perspective we're able to deal with a lot of incoming damage really well though still. We'll see how it affects group play soon probably. IMO Templar healers are going to change quite a bit this patch, but probably be even more effective. Thanks for all of the complaining everyone

I don't get why this change was made. Meteor is in a good place now: powerful, but with a counter.
On the other hand, I can't wait to nuke DKs(!!)
ya. i dont want to jump to conclusions but i feel that this is another big hit to mag dks and they dont realize it just like when they did the stam blocking change.
I feel like group v group fights are going to last 1.5 seconds. No barrier, that fire set and massively buffed prox det. Not sure I like the idea of every fight being a prox bomb suicide mission.

They are kind of already are that though. Barrier saved people from having to build defensively. You prox up and rush into the other group, hoping that your prox burst them down and your Nado's execute those which are low, pop back out, reprox, rinse repeat. Pop barriers when your low. A bit dumbed down of course, but that's the general gist.
Prox Det IMO is stupid, it should be removed.
I don't think that Fire set will make it through as is, they nerfed the Maelstrom 2H Sword when people saw how much that did, I think this will get similar treatment. 15k damage is insane.

I'm certainly looking into more defensive builds, but god damn. Honestly, they probably could have just removed barrier and left it there. Buffing prox det and all the rest is insult to injury.
I already run a permablock build with full impen and almost 30k health and I can still get blown up now. Not sure how defensive you think I can go in next patch lol

I'd like Wheeler to come here and explain the massive BS NERF to cloak. All I want is a reason WHY.

My take so far is that our normal way to deal with dmg will change slightly. DOTs now a deal breaker in fights, but templars can still purge. Removal of NB purge means they must rely on a Templar or use expensive alliance war skill, or use CP to compensate.
I can see a few morphs of skills no one used before will make a comeback or be used.
All things said, I think we may have a viable patch in terms of overall balance. Might need some tweaking prior to Dark Brotherhood, but it seems viable.
Some of the reflect changes might mean a return to builds that incorporate all stats. Could be Zose's way of forcing hybridization and eventually more gear choices once we see which sets are now vr16 to confirm.

This ASSUMES NB's want a Templar up their buttocks constantly. Part of the fun of playing a NB is the solo aspect of it, the creeping and hiding in the shadows. So now Nb's are required to stick close to a Templar to get dat dot purge? Come on. This is stupid beyond belief. This whole patch appears to me to be nothing more than more encouraged large group or medium size group play. Not less. We asked for help making smaller or solo more viable. Not more dependent on zergs and heal balls. I predict a mass exodus from the game after this patch, to add to the already slow bleed of players from the game.
DX11 focuses alot of physics and how objects or abilities interact. Atleast this is how it was described from the programmers in ARK.
When ARK first updated it, it was a disaster, with a lot of crashes the first 24 hours. But once they fixed it, it made the game SO SO much smoother, especially on the 100+ people servers.
There is hope.
That's what I was thinking. My rig should support this dx11 but there might be players locked out? Sucks but price to pay for a stable game.

Or you can slot purge or keep dark cloak up until the DoT is gone, and you get a 8% damage mitigation buff for 5 seconds after you become invisible.

Same reason for most of these changes: lots of vocal complainers.

Slotting purge as Stam NB isn't gonna happen. I don't even do much solo stuff anymore abd I recognize it as a gigantic nerf.
I don't really see the Cloak change as a huge deal...

My computer was high end about 2 years ago. Last night on PTS with my normal settings it was horrible. I had to dumb down to low settings. But the graphics on High was stunning. My tax refund is absolutely going to get me a new rig.

I certainly can slot purge. I don't like purge for many reasons, it's noisy (petty I know) and it takes up valuable slots from my preferred game play style. Limited slots, yanno? In all reality I would probably have to swap mass hysteria out for it-which is the best cc for magblades. I think given NB limited defenses they need to leave cloak alone. Allowing it to purge wasn't affecting a darn thing.
