Darn, I did like the kindness of a random buff!

    Why did it bother anyone?

    Because ...
No more being forced to draw my weapon for no good reason in the bank. No more running into doors because of the sudden unexpected speedup.

But it is bad for emotions, it stops them and lets you draw your weapons. And it looks rather silly, when this buff is forced on you while you are "walking" through town - what I do a lot, especially when wearing noble clothes, a lady is never in a hurry.

Purge and barrier are going from 20 people to 6 that are affected. More attempts to curb lag

just that i wont change a dime,
in fact all that will die are pug groups or randoms, that arent in group.

Zerg balls will just have 4 purgers or barriers in group instead of 2

This could be solved easily - if the effect would not work at all, when effect areas would overlap - and voila, this would be solved. It is that easy, ZOS would just have to make changes like this and zergs would be a thing of the past and lag gone.

overlapping in cases of barrier could happen, but i guess purge purges those first that need it. Same as BoL heals loe health targets first.

    • Rapid Maneuver:
      • This ability and its morphs now only affect your group, instead of any friendly nearby ally.

Yes! Yes! Yes! No more being forced to draw my weapon for no good reason in the bank. No more running into doors because of the sudden unexpected speedup. @AlienSlof you should be very happy too. :)

    Whoohoo!

I love that speed boost when I or my group are using it in PvP or racing around the sewers killing bosses, but in town - unnecessary. Inside BUILDINGS, even more unnecessary. It's great for traversing Cyrodiil in the 'riding simulator', but inside the bank? Really?

Yes, AlienSlof has even been trying a bit of PvP... :D
RIP Atherton, my beautiful little gentle friend, my Shining Light. I will miss you forever. Without you I am a hollow shell.

This was like the most unneeded change in the whole patch, how can you even care about it.

I found the use of Rapid Maneuver in towns annoying, have done for ages, and I don't buy into the idea that because there may be larger problems in the game we can't also care about the little things.

I'm still gobsmacked that ZoS listened! The little things are just as valid as the big things. Quality of life is always a good thing.

Some folks said a lot of nasty stuff to me when I requested a toggle for just this problem, something that wouldn't have affected them one bit. Now ZoS are changing this to suit me and others with the same grievance and I am happy.

Asking politely for something reaps rewards. :)

Especially when these changes do not effect each other. Those guys working on performance are not those who work on these kind of changes. Some people just do not realize, that working on one thing does not necessarily take away time from working on something else. There are teams working on stuff, and different teams work on different stuff, it's that simple. You PvP guys might not care much about roleplay if at all, but ESO is foremost an RPG not a combat simulator, so roleplay matters and immersion breaking things have to be removed. This was a good step into the right direction IMO.

I prefer PvP...but stayed away because it was so broken with broken skills and severe lag.
I wanted this change to help with severe lag, by reducing the number of selectable targets and the players hit and player updates generated.
The fact Roleplayers don't get griefed in town anymore is a rather pleasant side effect.

So I guess we are both happy at least ;)

Im all for smashing randoms and unorganised groups for fun but i think theyve just put a huge gap between good and bad players with all the changes.
