200k is reasonable for shoulders. Anyone and their grandmother can get the shoulders if they run pledges regularly. It's the helmets that are hard to get. I would imagine helms to be steeper in price. People have run molag kena 50+ times and not gotten a helm drop.

On a different note, where are the helms? They did say vendor would sell helms. Did ZOS renege on their offerings?

I think Helmet's will be sold also. It would not make sense to only have shoulder's. It's just a weekly random thing.

This cant be true, people gotta realize this is on PTS, not on live yet. But then again what Monster Sets are worth now as everything get scaled? Monster Sets were much better before pre-scaling, if you compared VR1 and VR14 for example.

Nah they will sell both, just alternate every week I think. So while the prices are lower than people expected, it can still take you a while to accumulate the set you want.

i hope helm stays on boss, otherwise dungeons will be empty. 200k ap for a piece it's a cheap price, you can do 200k ap in less than 1 week playing zergballs.

I've said it already, but you do realize that it will probably take weeks until the set you need is for sale? And that doesn't even mean you get in in the trait you want, apparently.

I'm still wondering about helms. If there're gonna be monster helms I grinded dungeons hundreds of times for for the price of 200k ap/100k gold...I'm gonna feel so sad.

It also doesn't seem to be in line with their general idea. They've been trying so hard to give players incentive to do dungeons, but setting prices that low basically puts it away completely, even with random trait? I'm using Impen Kena shoulder because that one took me like 150 gold keys to get(#ZOS_fix_your_rng), now why would I bother running 150 pledges if I could just pay 100k gold? I mean please, the sole quest reward for a gold pledge is what, 640 gold? 640*150=96000, the sole amount of gold I got just from those pledges would be pretty much enough to buy one instead(now I understand I wouldn't get that gold if I wasn't running pledges, but pledges are by far not the source of income, heck even writs are better. Just trying to show how much easier it is to earn 100k gold than to beat the RNG gods via running dungeons).

    Wow.....that's a price that even I can afford :o

Way, way way way too cheap...I can see a lot less people doing dailies because they'll just have their shoulders in the weight/trait they want immediately when the vendor has that set. At least make them 2-3 times the cost on live, then I'll be a bit happier...

You know, making the shoulders more expensive or making the monster sets only available through running dailies doesn't make me want to run the dungeon anymore than what I already do. In fact, I do not run dungeons anymore, and I used to consider myself an avid PVEer. Why do I not run dungeons anymore? Because the rewards (or rather lack thereof) do not justify the time invested. I more often than not only receive a grand soul gem, some gold, and an insignificant green piece of armor. What's the point in running a dungeon for the 100th time when I already know what to expect? The sheer amount of potential head and shoulder combinations alone make it extremely difficult to obtain the pieces I want. That should be enough. Why is there another layer of RNG on top of those combinations that make it nearly impossible for a monster set piece to drop at all?

Monster set drops should be guaranteed, and the prices are absolutely fine. In fact, I want to see more options for traits if they're only going to allow us to purchase one set piece on certain days and times. What ZOS fails to realize is that a lot of people do not play this game for the grind. Very few people actually enjoy grinding. Of course, there are exceptions, but I'm certain the majority simply want to get their gear and get back to playing end-game content. And you know what that end-game content is...it's Cyrodiil. This is where I find the majority of ESO's player base. I do not find many anywhere else. I tried queuing for Vet Spindleclutch for the past week just so I could have a shot at the Bloodspawn helm. I even asked in zone numerous times for about two hours. I managed to find two other people who wanted to run the dungeon, but we couldn't run it because we simply could not find a tank. I even transformed one of my toons into a tank just so I could run the dungeon, and I still haven't found a group.

If the content itself cannot stand on its own, then locking BiS gear behind it isn't going to help. Truth is...the aforementioned method of locking gear behind content has been tried and it has completely failed. No one wants to run the content because at this point its a chore. It's not fun struggling through a dungeon with people who think tanking consists of spamming Brawler on a boss. It's not very entertaining to brute force your way through the dungeon for hours only to be rewarded with gold, some crawlers, and maybe if you're super lucky...a useless purple non set piece bow with a unique name.

How long have people been grinding for these sets? I've been playing since beta, and I still do not have a Bloodspawn set piece. That says a lot about the awful method ZOS uses to distribute gear in ESO. Please do not advocate for increased costs so that doing dailies is the only viable way to obtain gear. You know, if people were to get the exact gear that they wanted, they may be more inclined to run these dungeons. A lot of people do not want to run end-game dungeons because they either lack the skill or the Willpower (pun intended) to do so. Better gear would help diminish that gap in skill and serve as a morale boost.

How about we give the people more options, eh ZOS? And after we improve gear distribution, how about we discuss and get to work on PVP options and combat balance. For this game to survive and prosper, it needs structured PVP arenas and battlegrounds. Give us something so that we may indulge in our competitive nature. Simply stacking and spinning in Cyrodiil doesn't allow for any real competition. I could go on for hours with this, but that's a whole other topic for another day.

To most saying only shoulders are being sold and they're going to be only infused, that's not how it's going to work. Thing with this is that it can be a shoulder one week and a helmet next week, which will also have a different trait. Honestly, grinding Undaunted is still probably better. At least there you have unlimited tries in order to get the piece you're looking for instead of waiting a week and getting disappointed; however, if you combine occasional Undaunted grinding with vendor waiting, it works out nicely :)

What it does generally mean is that people will wait for the "good" week, then when it's Kena Divines helmet time there'll be a queue to that vendor bigger than when a new iPhone launches

Token system anyone? 1 token per level of key from dungeons and per 50 or 100k AP spent. Can buy a random monster pc box for a low number of tokens, a random trait but fixed type of monster piece for a medium number of tokens (based on desirability of monster piece), and a chosen trait and monster piece for a lot of tokens. Oh and a retrait for a medium number of tokens.

Then you could save / convert your keys to get monster pieces - with the cost for the exact pieces you want being very high (ie weeks or work not days).

Remember this is PTS. For testing. If they made the price 5 mil AP then there would be very few able to buy/test it. On live, the prices might be very different.

As for helms, if i remember correctly they said helms will be included in the rotation, but its just one item per week/appearance, so this week its a shoulder.

Indeed, but I think that's the point. The vendor is supposed to be complimentary source of these items, not replace running dungeons.

I think the cost is Ok as it is.

Since its RNG based what will be for sale that week. It may a Shoulder Piece, or it may bea Helmet piece, but it appears its never both....that means the one day you don't log the helmet you want may be for sale and you may not see it come up again for 2 months or more...I think that makes sense and it explains the lower cost. This is not to mention the traits are random. I think thats pretty balanced.

if you could choose from aall of them with any trait 1 time a week then yeah, i would agree with increasing the cost. However seeing the random nature of this, I think its ok.
