The Nervous Ride

Setting all your skill aside, every now and then you gotta have that feeling when riding around in Cyrodiil alone like, okay, any minute now it's coming....

Where does this happen the most for you?

Me, being AD, it's usually from Nikel to Ash and from Alessia to Sejanus

You know what scares me the most? Lighting.

I will be riding alone in Cyrodiil alert, looking around for incoming enemy.. and then Lighting strikes and it scares me every time.

What always gets me are the NPCs that sprint around much faster than any in the PvE zones do. Riding along, trying to stay alert, see something dash behind a tree, dismount / cloak / cast buffs / ready to ambush... oh it's a goblin.

I absolutely know this feeling, several times that lightning made me jump.

    Same.
I haven't been there in a while, but.. the same, just everywhere. I hate that feeling. That's the reason why I haven't done the quests in the towns with the last 2 characters anymore, it was a nightmare with the first 6.

Usually when crossing bridges. I don't know why.

The only time I was caught alone while riding my horse through Cyrodiil, I killed the guys attacking me, and I wasn't even on a bridge.

    Still, bridges make me nervous.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Haha, yesterday evening I made my second journey to Cyrodiil ever. As I want to have the Master Angler Achievement I have to go there sometime so I thought I might as well start now. So I went to Cyrodiil, did the first quests there and looking at the mission board I decided that a scouting mission wouldn't hurt, as I don't have to kill someone for it. So I accepted one and was sent all across Cyrodiil.
I rode all the way up to my destination (and even managed to turn in a quest without being killed), scouted the area that I was supposed to spy on and then made my long journey back. The area was completely deserted, I saw some hostile NPCs on my way but only one or two other players, I sneaked around every populated area and rode the rest without any problems and then, just when I was about to enter AD territory again, there was a loud thunderclap... and I was so startled that I flinched and nearly crashed my mouse on the desk.

I deliberately chose a less crowded campaign because I am not into PVP and I really don't want to start with it, but being in Cyrodiil apparently makes me paranoid! :)

Same here. I'm a stamblade and always stealthed when moving. I get nervous when I'm sitting still wondering if someone using detect pots is sneaking up on me.

Unless you take the direct paths to keeps/outposts it is very rare you will ever see anyone. I go (used to go) resource farming in pop locked servers and might see 5-6 players in the hours I was in there.

The journey from Chalman Keep to Bleakers Outpost always is a risky one... especially going through the Mile gate. But the anxiety fades after you have been ganked a few hundred times :) I just shrug & say to my teamspeak friends "at least I don't have to ride home".

I REALLY like how ZOS have made a lot of the NPCs at delves & quest hubs look & move like real players... like the scouts that crouch & rush from tree to tree. For quite a while I would see them & alert my friends & buff up & prepare for an attack that never came.

the sewer entrances. As often as AD camps with groups of 30 or more at the entrances, it makes it a gamble at best when trying to get into IC. Once I do get there and find a group we go back and wipe them but that first time coming into IC is always a gamble if you pick the right entrance this time or not. It really ticks me off when I see an EP guy in front of me and I try to chase but then he goes into the sewers and 20 AD guys jump me after letting him through. The whole deal with AD and EP teaming up is starting to get damn annoying, especially when DC is already the least populated alliance on ps4
