So many Guys are starting Topics and are crying about how useless or bad Tanks are in this Game, so i start my own Topic to give the other Side a Voice.
I can just shake my Head if i read "i leveled a Tank because it is so easy to find a Group for XY". You dont play a Tank because it is easy to find a Group or it is easy to play. You play a Tank because you like it. Because you like it to get hit, because you like it to have all the Aggro, because you like it to hold your protecting Hand over your Group. Tanking is about keeping all Harm away from your Group so they can do there Job as good as possible. Being a good Tank needs Passion and the Will to help Others. Something you dont have if you roll a Tank to find Groups faster. Thats selfish and not the right Atitude for a good Tank.
Your Job is to keep every Single Enemy on you while receiving as less Damage as possible. Your Job isnt to compare with the DDs in DPS. If you wanna do DPS, go and reroll a DD or get some Gear for a DD-Build.
It can be very difficult to play a DD as 2. Spec if you distribute your Attributepoints into 2 or 3 Ressources and it sucks to change the Mundusstone but i dont understand why it should be so hard to deal good DPS with just switching Gear and Skills. Do you all have your blue Championpoints into Blade Expert that you cant pull DPS?
You cant finish vMSA in your Tankbuild and Questing takes to long? Adapt and get a Build for that. DDs and Healers also have to adapt if they wanna finish vMSA. They have to put some DPS, Survivabilty or Healing into there Build to finish it. Why FFS should a Tank be able to finish this Content in a full Tankspec? The Holy trinity dosnt means that you just have to play a Tank or a DD or a Healer. You also can play a tanky DD, a tanky Healer, a DPSing Healer, a healing Tank ...
The Holy Trinity is fluid with a lot of Possibilitys and it is your Job to get the Best out of it.
Some Content is really to easy, especially if you have a good and rehearsed Group. But that dosnt make Tanks completely useless. I PUG a lot, sometimes to much for my Nerves. And almost everytime a Group decides to run without a Tank because "Tanks are useless, lets just DPS that Stuff", it ends with me fleeing from a lot of Aggro, high Repaircosts and a totaly pissed Maddux.
Sometimes Tanks are really useless in this Game but if you think that you almost never need a Tank, you definitly never has seen a good Tank.
Tanking in this Game is boring sometimes and it could be better. But it is still good, challenging and is making Fun if you do it with the right Atitude.

✭✭I am a tank since beta even further back ever since I started playing MMORPGs. I love it and will always love it and always be one in ESO and so on.
But cause of DPS players crying about them being "unkillable" in PvP has caused nerfs to them that were wrongly deserved (to some point) because DPS want easy kills. Now we are at this mess were a player can DPS through any PvE content and PvP is nothing more than a bigger DPS contest. Like really what is the point of a tank in PvP ? If a DPS player cant kill them they'll just move onto there friends and if there solo well just 2 or 3 DPS players can easily kill a tank player cause news flash unlike shield stackers or perma-roller you beat on a tank long enough they die cause you know no penetration resistance or no stamina regen while blocking and break free costing a arm or a leg.
It's not that tanking is hard it's that ZOS had made our roles jokes to the point were a light armor wearing player can shield stack and can last just as long or longer than a player who spec themselves to be tanks while also giving out massive DPS.
Most tanks don't want the un-killable plague back they just want don't wanna be a joke any more and actually have better survivalbility in PvP than a shield stacker or perma-roller.
Also please don't ramble on about trails and that junk trails are there own thing.2 -

I wear 5H/1M/1L for the Undaunted Passives and idk why i should wear 2 Pieces Medium Armor. That bit of Cost Reduction isnt worth the Ressourceloss.0 -

DPS now is all that matters, from PvP over PvE to vMA.
Result: ZOS killed Tanks, first in PvP, then in PvE.
It gets harder and harder to find tanks in the group finder.
Almost all my tank friends left the game in frustration or play another class now...
As a healer, I love playing with a tank who is taking the damage. However, now I often have to run with 3 DPS, and all the burden is on the healer (who of course is held responsible for failure).

Why else would any one scream nerf to PvE content that was designed for group play and not solo play unless they were a glass canon who wants to be some divine deity and solo everything.1
