An appeal for excitement...

More specifically, my excitement. I've spend the last week logging on, staring at my character, then logging off 30 seconds later. Been doing that roughly 3-4 times a day. I just can't find anything to do

Once you've levelled up the characters you love, the ones who have all the time, research, riding and XP put into them, you kinda hit a brick wall.

I started PvP a while back but it was agony to fight the lag and exploits along with the personal differences between players, which are taken out on the battlefield. I got to 'Veteran Level 2' and then decided to walk away until it was fixed.

I have multiple characters at VR16, all research in everything (all traits and all level 50), riding training is about halfway on each. I've done the DLC and all the quests including all the delves, public dungeons etc. I'm not wanting to grind regular dungeons for monster sets because I don't find that enjoyable. I legitimately cannot think of anything to move on to.

I've spent a long, long time trying to find people to RP with but haven't found anyone so far.

I honestly don't know what to log in for at the moment.

This isn't a jab or criticism as such, it's just a fan trying to find the joy again.

Has this ever happened to you? What do you recommend? Or am I on my MMO deathbed?

Delete all your characters, donate a large part of your gold and start at the bottom of the heap. I'm not being sarcastic, I have more fun at the lowest levels than any other part of the game. Sometimes it's the struggle that makes it enjoyable. Maybe just take a break from the game for a while and see if you miss it.

Certainly is happened to me. The question is are you looking for a reason to play? Or one not to. How burnt out are you?

If it's the first, other than pvp what would you like to do? If it's RP, look at the RP forums and try and connect out of IC. What kind of RP are you interested in and where would your character fit in?

If it's pvp, you're pretty much going to have to deal with the lag. If you're Burned out on pve stuff, otherthan pvp and RP I don't see a reason to keep playing

Whenever I get bored with what I've been doing, I do the opposite..

If I've been running lots of dungeons or Maelstrom Arena, I switch to PvP and then remember all the reasons I love it.

PvP sounds pretty brutal on PC tho so don't know if this is an option.

I think a break is a good idea. I started playing in the hope of finding a large RP base. The history and world seems like such a brilliant opportunity for RPing and it feels a little wasted. I tried to connect with a few people but they all left after a while.

I think I'll step away for a while and see if it pulls me back

If not I may have to look elsewhere

I took a 3 month break a few times, come back and do something new. this time around im getting into pvp,it justified buying a new headset at least and the guys im running with make TS humorous.

I only have one VR16 character but I know what the OP means. I pretty much only load my VR16 guy to craft gear for my lower level alts. MyVR16 guy is OK for group PVE but because so much of his build is oriented towards crafting & resource gathering.. he sucks at PVP. However I still have a few group delves in Craglorn to complete... DAMN YOU SHADA!

99% of my playtime is now running lower level alts in Blackwater Blade & Azuras Star PVP campaigns. With builds made specifically for PVP, they are a lot more fun than my weak VR16 "tank'. I run a VR1 Nightblade in Azuras & she hits harder & survives better than my VR16 guy.

I get that PVP has it's issues.. bugs, exploits, lag, etc... still good fun for me most of the time. Whether I am killed by a lame player using an exploit or a really good player just being awesome or a giant zergball... I am just as dead

I just respawn (or get a rez if appropriate) & get back into it! I just ignore the smack-talk whispers that are just going to be juveniles trying to get you mad. Always remember that you are playing a game for relaxation & enjoyment & it's not worth getting yourself upset about it.

You need to get in touch with the Roleplay communities. Believe me, the roleplay scene is alive and running strong in ESO. There's big guilds with lots of people and they have weekly tavern nights. Google TESO-RP or children of skyrim and reach out to some of the people and sit in for the tavern nights. They're so big and so widespread that they've made community guides.

I will say the advanced roleplayers that produce storylines and such don't attend tavern nights much but they ARE in those guilds. Gotta work your way into their ball game sort of, throw a few pitches and take a couple swings. Majority of rpers are derpy derps that like to pretend they like the taste of alcohol and experiment with touching each other.
Or that people who like the taste of alcohol are even real. No one says "hmmm i'll have that shot of Bacardi 151 over the pudding next time!"

uhm....that being said the RPers are PC. Those guilds have EU sides if you're concerned about that.

ESO should have been a sandbox MMO. ZOS should have never designed it so that you can dry up zones and the guilds of content. Some of us.... scratch that... MANY of us aren't content running the same handful of trials and dungeons, sacrificing our time to RNGeebus.

I honestly believe player created content would be the saving grace of this game... but ZOS has shown absolutely no interest in doing such a thing. It's a shame really, because the excitement that you're talking about would be served up daily and en masse.... other players are suggesting creating new characters and running the same contact you have before. To me that just sounds incredibly tedious.

If ZOS allowed players to make quests there would be a regular parade of new stories. If even just half of the mod makers put a quarter of their talent into this we would get some absolutely epic content. And every DLC would also see the release of that DLCs creatures textures and assets in the creators packs that could be sold to those who want to make content for ESO. More content for players, and more money for ZOS.... and they've never even once responded to the request for these tools. Of course, the response will be probably something along the lines of, "but... it would be REALLY hard!".

Oh well. Thieves Guild is out soon.

Try to avoid MMORPG burnout, because its real. Thats why we have Enlightment, wish it was longer though. I play only one MMORPG at a time then try to play all decent single player games, that seems to work for me, but eventually you need to switch to another MMORPG.

I still have lots of alts to level, and that's what I do most times.

On my mains, there's hunting down a V16 briarheart and pariah set... and of course endless treasure chest hunts for legerdemain... and still haven't gotten past the rink of frozen blood in maelstrom arena... I expect all of that will keep me busy until thieves guild hits.
Of course... if I had some rolepaying going on, I'd likely double my ESO time... right now, I am splitting my gametime between this and some other stuff... but no RP as of yet, more's the pity.

Welcome to MMOs. Everyone gets burnout. It is why I have moved to the more casual side and it has made all the difference. Don't concentrate on only one game. Diversity is the key to avoiding the wall you are hitting.

That's not really a "gaming company". A website about video game news is what I see.

Are you really wanting to discuss my company on a thread I started about something completely unrelated?

We're new. I have been in and out of hospital. We do more than news. We do twitch, youtube, work with new upcoming developers and youtubers.

The company is officially registered with the HoC UK Government.

I'm really proud of what I'm doing and making no money from it so far. I have many people who are supportive in what we want to achieve.

Don't let the naysayers put you off what you are doing. I've set up many companies over the years and you'll always find someone saying it's a bad idea, give up etc. Ignore them and do what makes you happy. It is normally those who are not prepared to take any risks who will try and belittle those who do.

Good luck with your website. It may succeed, it may not, but only one way to find out for certain and make sure you have fun as you try. You don't want to wake up one morning in 10 years in a job you hate and wonder what life would have been like if only you had gone for something different when you had the chance. There is nothing worse than regretting something you didn't do. At best you will have built a good project. At worst you would have learnt a lot and have lessons for trying again. I've probably learnt more running my businesses for 15 years than I did from doing marketing to up PhD level at university, but, at least the beer was cheaper!

You do. If you're not having fun in the game right now, take a break from it. Come back and check it out again when Thieves Guild comes out to see if the new content re-kindles your interest. In the meantime, hang out on the forums, but avoid negative threads. Instead hang out in the fun threads like the Thread for PC Users (even though, you know, you're not a PC user

). Burnout can be real, and there's no point in forcing yourself to log in and play a bit here and there through it, as that will only make it worse.
