•(5 items) 20% chance when you cast a Damage Shield on an ally to call down a fragment of Trinimac that heals allies and damages enemies in the area for 3667. Can only occur once every 3 seconds.

So my question, am I considered an ally of myself? If I cast a shield on myself do I have a chance to proc fragment of Trinimac?

I don't believe so. But I have never tried it.

Works only on allies, i.e. 5pc bonus not viable for serious play.

Ok, so if I'm builing a Templar healer. Which skill(s) would you recommend for PvE that would proc this?

Why Not? Seems like a nice bonus if you're running dungeons.

From templar skills you won't be able to proc this set. Only skills like Healing Ward(if it procced on ally)/Ward Ally and maybe Barrier ultimate.

In my mind this 5-piece is more for sorcerers with pets, but the Ward Ally morph in the Restoration Staff tree is a good bet.

FWIW I use four pieces on my templar healer and the regen buff is quite nice, I generally don't need another source of healing.

That's actually interesting, I didn't consider pets. Does it count them as allies?

This set is just about perfect for a DK healer with those shields.

It does count pets as allies. A friend tested it.

Also DK healers have Obsidian Shield, so it would be quite handy for a DK healer.

I believe (and i hope ) that this set is very good for a DK healer due to the igneous shield spam needed to gain the major mending, so if i'm not wrong you will have 30% chance to morph the shield into an aoe heal.

Tis set is IMHO a must have for DK healers, other classes simply cant use it at it's full potential.

I used it on my DK tank with Obsidian Shield. It really is not a good 5 piece bonus. It only affects 1 person every 3 seconds (at the most) and not you. I recommend only running 4 if you need the regen on your jewelry, but a Kena piece or a Torug will give much more benefit than the 5th Trinimac.

One additional note... casting a shield that affects more than one ally does not increase the chance. It seems you get the same chance per shield cast and who it procs on is random.

They need to remove the cool down for this to be viable.

I'll probably end up going 4 pieces most, if not all of the time too. I'm just looking at options at this point. I just made my Templar this weekend (because of all the Trinimac gear I've been getting), so she's a little ways away from being able to wear it.

I still miss 1 pcs to check how viable it is but since the willpower arcane jewels are too much for me i will use it anyway maybe only the 3 or 4 pcs set

I am using the jewelry and one armor piece on my Altmer Templar now and I love the regen, but was completely unimpressed with the 5 piece as you can tell.

I would recommend 4 pieces of Trinimac (Jewelry and 1 armor), 5 Pieces of your favorite other set (Julianus or Kregrenac) and 2 pieces or Torug for this set. The 129 spell damage you get from Torug will be better than the little heal and damage you *might* get every 3 seconds.

Thank you for the info, that's actually pretty interesting.

Far as DKs go, a DK healing friend of mine runs it. Now I must say I haven't been looking closely for the set's animation so it could be he was good despite that set rather than thanks to it but I can tell you it was one of safest and smoothest WGT runs I had(didn't get no death but weren't trying either). He seems in love with the set, says it pretty much carries him through group content, and I assume he keeps a closer eye on the procs than I do

Add in Kena shoulders and this is exactly what I run on my dual wield bar, I enjoy it thoroughly. Just need that darn Maelstrom resto staff already...
