I left this game right around the time Tamriel Unlimited came out. I did enjoy the game but got real bored by the time I hit VR8 and finally hit Cadwel Gold so I just went back to WoW and then Neverwinter for a while. One thing I can say about ESO that is not a positive is that combat is slow paced in feel, and the actual attacks do not have a feeling of impact lol. Has anything changed with this? Do Vampires still look like Zombies and/or Sith in this game as well? Has anything with Vampire appearances changed or the combat stepped up at all? I got an email for Thieves Guild, so I am hoping that 3 DLC packs later we have some better paced combat / animations and to a lesser extent some better Vampire appearances.

Well, I am sure they added a few new emotes they added a soul shriven skin with imperial city you can get so you can really look like a soul shriven, and if you use the skin with a vampire it will remind you of oblivions vampires looks its kinda cool and makes vampirism look more like the cyridill clan in a way.
They have released a bunch of content in the crown store like pets, costumes, they even added vampirism and lycanthropy as a option to buy if you want to be lazy and not earn them ingame, most of the modifs with the exceptions of newest ones added with the last dlc, are added to be buy able the rarest ones cost the most like 5000 crowns, but does not require you to level the provisening skill lines in order to use.
As for combat, well its mostly the same they made changes and are going to balance the classes with the thieves guild dlc, or so it is said. They might even be planing on making a new pet class like necromancer because thats the most wanted one when they put a poll on it somewhere, so its something I think they are planning.

1. The combat has been hailed as some of the most fast-paced combat out there, what with the Animation Cancelling, lots of instant cast abilities with only a 1sec global cooldown and lots of extra skills added. In the base game update for TG they said they'd be changing the animations so you can still see them with weaving, so I guess we'll see what happens there.
2. Vampire looks are all in the eyes of the beholder. If you keep your Vamp at stage 4 then you'll get the most shrivelled, red-eyed look so if you want better looks then feeding regularly will be a good idea. If you ever plan on PvPing though I'd recommend against getting a Vamp, as there are a lot of 1-hit kill builds for Vamps and undead.

Here is what soul shriven skin looks like with stage two vampirism.
lol its not easy to put them up here just click on the image to make it bigger as you can see it looks epic it changes vampires making them look different in a way then they are normaly.
Not sure why it is not the same size as the other one and it should be but oh well.

They are in fact making animations more a priority even if they animation cancel it will show the animation going through.
As far as I know, so other players will see the animations. Even if you cancel them.

Maybe you should log in and play the game. You obviously already own it and since you don't need a sub to play it anymore it will only cost you your time to download it and log in. Then you wouldn't have to ask questions that seem to come from beta reviews of the game. No combat is not slow and "floaty" like many were saying back then. They have improved those animations. Yes vampires look the same as they always have. And no, WoW and Neverwinter are not even on the same league in regards to combat.
