If you have problems after every system update then you might have a problem at your side. This is seriously the first time I have problem with the game in this matter (exactly same as yesterday and for many people, not only me).

Because there is nothing to thank for right now. We got server down yesterday for 2 hours and all we got was "oh, yes, sorry DDOS attack, all cool". And today? Our "update" takes 2 hours longer than NA update and on top of that we cannot connect! -.-

If the eu server is not where they are updating from, then they'd have to do it remotely, which would take longer. The na server could be in their own building so it would update quicker. Doubt they chose to update the na server to annoy eu players.
As for errors after update, they could have experienced packet loss during remote update which could have corrupted minor files.
