Playing another class besides Templar is so refreshing!

Wow, I'm just simply amazed.

I've had my Templar since launch and never really experimented with another class. Suffice to say most of the time all I did was jab jab jab because it was so effective. I never really thought too much about the gameplay because the quests and content were so fun.

Recently I picked up a sorc and while I'm only level 9 I have to say it is SO refreshing in terms of variety. That lightning skill that I guess acts like an execute is so satisfying just watch the mobs explode. Then there's the idea of using spells and watching for my hands to glow so I can use a free crystal frags. Even with one bar and limited skills its just so engaging and I'm having a lot of fun.

Overload is really awesome as well although that's the only ultimate I've unlocked atm.

I will say that I don't care for the pet all that much but the class is still very fun atm.

LOL! Sorcs are fun, aren't they?

I started with a nightblade, then made a sorc, but decided to play my NB instead, but ended up making a sorc in EP as well, then after a while made a templar, then figured I might as well make a DK. Then made a DK in EP and decided I needed a DC toon, so I made a NB there.

Each of them has slightly different play styles and it's really interesting to put yourself in the mindset of the class you are currently playing (though when I switch, I tend to miss my "oh ***" button from the other class for the first hour or so).

Templars are fun, too, but with a sorc or a nightblade, you need to focus a bit more on positioning and strategy, I find.

YES! Sorcerer combos can be so satisfying when timed right. Velocitous Curse + Heavy Attack + Mage Wrath = BOOM!

I also don't like using familiars (pets) but I always level the daedric summoning skill line to get Curse, Atro & eventually Conjured Ward.

I agree. Mine's like lvl 30ish at the moment but it is refreshing indeed, although I'll always keep Templar as my main. :pensive:

Trying out the other classes is a lot of fun.

My main is a Stamplar and I've learned how to get a lot more out of playing her through my other characters.

I've leveled each class to VR16...but I still come back to my Templar.

Maybe I'm crazy, and I know I'll never be "top of the leaderboard" but I do know fun when I'm having it ;)

Glad to hear you've found some fun with your Sorc and hope you continue to also :)

Also, the pets allow you to solo some world bosses that are multiple mobs. Don't discount them just yet!

My problem with Templars are all the broken skills and passives. Resurrecting is a key skill for us but the 50% chance of getting a soul gem after a res is more like 0.00000050%, I've done about 200 rez in Cyrodiil and have gotten 0 gems from it. Jabs doesn't get the 140% damage against shields. Our gap closer only fires about 30% of the time and when it doesn't we can get stuck for 2 minutes unable to do anything. Our shield was nerfed into the ground. Our heals and purges will be next to useless against the upcoming changes to siege weapons. And still, in spite of all that, we some how muddle thru and can play the game. Someday, someday I'd like to play the class without all the bugs and gimped abilities. Man, that would be fun!

Just keep in mind, it is fresh and exciting now because it is New and different. Soon it will be spam 2, proc crystal shards. Spam 2, proc crystal shards. Spam 2... Oh hell you get the idea. oooppps, shield, procs crystal shards..

Now before all the sorcs jump me with all the creative junk they do, keep in mind the person said they are spamming jabs because it is the most effective. Lots of things to do with a Templar outside of spam jabs, yet they weren't. So I imagine once they join the shard easy street it will be all down hill... Unless they want to spam pulsar.. Is that still a group thing?

I have to say that a "Well Played" Sorc is the most rewarding class to play. I would suggest getting away from the "Pet" play style" as latter in the game there are so many better options and rotations to use. Sorcs can Solo most everything if they are geared and played correctly..

Hell this is ESO though so it is not like the game is all that hard in the first place. Most classes can say the same as the above.^^

In every MMO I have ever played I have tried to find the class that fits my play style and if I die I want it to be because "I Ducked-UP" Not because the class sucks. I can remember soloing things on my CW in NW that would take full groups to run. Solo Castle Never was no joke, but if you knew what were doing it could be done. In DDO I can remember soling dungeons on my W/F/R. That would give most four man groups headaches.

Sorcs are a lot of fun to play in ESO. Even more so if you get away form the Pet+ CF/Proc cookie cutter builds.

Thanks everyone, it's great to hear other perspectives as well!

I'm looking forward to getting more skill points so I can try out some of the other skills, but right now it's a bit slow going.

I still do love my Templar and play it more often than not as it is my main, but once my writs are done, I get my keys, and my inspiration boosts are gone its back to the sorc.

I'm not sure if it has much to do with anything but I'm also playing more often in first person on my sorc. I'm finding it a lot more enjoyable compared to the Templar because for some reason there is always a delay/lag on the jabs.

I'm in the same boat! Played my Templar up to V3, but me and some of my group buddies are taking a break until another one of us reaches V2 or so, so I started a magicka DPS sorc. So satisfying to ruin enemies with magic!

I was kind of the other way around, I played sorcerer first, and then discovered the joy of templars and haven't really played much of my sorcerer ever since, and now have 3 templars  Although I have recently started levelling a stamina NB, only level 14 at the moment, and that is allot of fun, and yet templar is still by far my favourite, I just hope that they get fixed in the next update
