Questing?

Still new to the game and I have noticed I outlevel the quests faster than I can do them. Will I be able in the future (best guess) to be able to do them at any level with down-scaling? It seems a waste of developer time to revisit an area and not be offered quests because I have outleveled it

Also while I am asking questions, when I get to the point of doing other factions (lvl 50+) will all the areas and quests be scaled to my level or will I again outlevel the new areas?

Thanks for your time.

once your on cadwells silver, areas go up 1 vet level at a time, so stonefalls in EP would be V1 then deshaan is V2, etc

Yeah if you don't want to outlevel your quests you shoudn't do all of them. I suffered from this issue as well.

You'll always outlevel quests nowadays, when you do all or at least most of them and there is currently no way to downscale yourself or upscale an area to your level. This is manly thanks to people who have no patiance and want to reach everything fast.

Avoid public dungeons, group dungeons, world bosses, dolmens.
Farming mobs all day long for combat practice wont help.
That should keep you on level....but takes away the fun
    :(

People complained that they could not get enough XP for levelling Zones.
I have no idea how they manage that without ignoring a lot of the content.
So now you are way over level instead.

By the way....there are often different levels in the same zone.
You have to follow the main quest path to go around in the right order.

With Thieves Guild DLC some kind of battle leveling (think Orsinium and IC, possibly) might be coming as sort of a precursor to VR removal with Dark Brotherhood DLC.

So who knows, if you don't rush you may just get there right as the next DLC comes out...

Edit: Unless it really is just pick whichever zone you want to start at VR 1 then the normal process begins... that could be all it is and if that's the case I'd be pretty disappointed.

There is a mechanic when you are more than 5 levels over the mobs you no longer get any exp for killing them. IN fact the exp goes down after being two levels over. So, that will slow down your leveling. It is not quite like this in VR as any VR mob will give at least some exp.

It used to be that you had to pretty much complete a zone to stay on level. Now, especially with ESO Plus, you can out level a zone even without completing it.

However the good news is, save the quests for when you are VR Ranks. As the quest exp will count towards the champ system at that point.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

There's no way to not out level the quests. Just doing the main quests and quests that coincide with them will put you over.

It slows down in vet levels so you can keep up mostly. I ended up skipping a lot to make the quest levels somewhat interesting. Of course I had to go back and finish them later because I'm addicted to achievements.

As far as I know there are no plans to down scale, only upscale.

Yea I am a kind of "smell the roses" type player and I usually like to milk a map for all it has to offer. Thanks for the replies, but I suppose those that are in a hurry far outnumber those of us that like to take our time; I actually listen to the text being spoken to me when not being attacked.

WTB a slow down XP scroll...lol

Unfortunately, their is no option to turn off or slow down xp gains. Although I think it would be a brilliant idea. You could stay in blackwater blade forever without having to reroll! Maybe make a toggle that trades xp for gold or something.

The ability to scale down would be nice too.

Skip ahead. Only do the main quest if you want, or just move to the next zone. On Lvls 1-50 I always end up skipping ahead until I find the right challenge level I like.
For Caldwell's Silver I do the required quests, although not necessarily in order. To keep my enjoyment, I jumped ahead, and then at the end I ran back and spent a few hours doing the required quests in Silver Zones 1 & 2.
But that requirement goes away soon.
