Forum Polls "critical mass"?

There are lots of great ideas for improving the game discussed on these forums, but I wonder if Zenimax ever take notice or even see many of them. Microsoft have a feedback system (although I'm not sure they look at it much) whereby if enough people endorse a request, they commit to look at it. The British Government has an online petition system where, if a certain "critical mass" of people sign it, it gets discussed in Parliament.

I was wondering what people thought to the idea that Zenimax wrote something into the forum software that flagged up polls receiving a certain level of votes to them, and they would then commit to passing these on to the developers for discussion/consideration.

In theory this could be a great idea, but the key word their is "in theory". As I'm sure you're aware the internet can be rather trollish and even when people don't mean too, things can get spammed on a regular basis. I fear if they implemented a system of that nature we'd constantly see the same petition and pepole would just get fatigued out of even looking at that froum section. In other words the community would likely hurt itself.

Now I'd also say that Zenimax do listen to what the community says, I've heard them regularly address the communties thoughts on their ESO Live streams. So I think their feedback system right now, if flawed still works. As the saying goes, if it ain't broke then don't fix it.

    UPDATE
Also being a UK citisen (Welsh) I've even seen this happen on our petition system. The same stuff gets put up with nothing really coming off of it aside from an email telling you what they've already said on the matter.

The forum is only a single data point, and not exactly a big one. As much as the people in the forum like to talk about the game and improvements to the game, we are in a distinct minority of the players. They have to use a lot of different sources to get an accurate picture, including how people are actively playing the game.

That said, they have already told us that the Commmunity team provides reports up the chain on what happens in the forum. I would imagine that this includes ideas and thoughts about the game, and may even include poll results if they feel it is significant. I don't know to what degree they still do this sort of work, since it has been a while since they told us that.

Such a scheme would be open to abuse, while the present system seems to work pretty well. We know that the community managers do read the forums and pass ideas on, and we know the developers also read the forums without posting and thereby getting immersed into debates.

How do we know these things? Because quite a lot of the ideas and suggestions get acted on. Plus they tell us that's what happens, of course  !
