Maintenance for the week of May 11:

Had to do a dungeon instance for a quest.

Result: spent 3 and a half hour (yes really) to reach the third area of spindlegrove with a lvl 40ish guy and a lvl 25ish girl, me being lvl16, a level higher than the prequisite for the quest. It was 100% impossible to continue. Mobs were so calledly scaled to veteran 16 or something (none of us were veteran as i just explained)

Eventually all my equipment was broken regardless of effort and im not a noob, its just that often id get one or twoshot, though i did manage to kill some enemies here and there, we also managed to kill that giant spider regardless of scaling.. it costed me 700gold to repair it all wich was half of all the money i had.
Needless to say but still; i quit the quest, left the dungeon and removed the quest from the list because i had no intention to ever try that nonsense again.

Sorry for having to post a negative thread but this bugged me so much, wasted my whole evening away for no reason, that i felt i had to let know my discontent and hope staff will use this experience to fix this absurd system that puts players in such a situation.

It sounds like you were trying to 3 man it(since you only mentioned 3 people)? Why, could you not find the 4th person or something?
Your level matters little since while using groupfinder(which I assume you did) you all get scaled to v16, along with mobs. I guess it was easiest way to do it, it also solves the loot/xp issue as normally you won't get xp from mobs 5+ levels below you(so say there'd be pretty much no reason for the lvl 40 guy to do a dungeon with a lvl 16 if you both weren't scaled). You are lacking some skills and passives at such low level though and you're probably missing set items/food/potions so it does make it more challenging.
What role were you? Did you have a tank and a healer? Was your tank taunting and healer healing? They're group dungeons, they're supposed to be done with a group where everyone fulfills their roles(they also get incredibly easy once you level up and learn the game better).

That was a group dungeon, most likely Spindleclutch (no such thing as Spindlegrove AFAIK).

Group dungeons are not meant to be soloed and at level they usually require a 4-man group: 1 tank, 1 healer, 2 DDs. With some builds you could do away with a dedicated tank or healer. Anyway, bottom line is it's meant to do as a group. The quest is specific to the dungeon, no open world quest will require you to run a group dungeon except for the very first undaunted quest, and that's an introductory quest for group content.

I was on my main wskill (breton nightblade focussed in archery, shadow and assasin skills) we had one healer mage and another archer dunno what his class was.
The other guy left and noone else came in after the spider.

I do have a few passive skills unlocked based on damage and crit rating and stamina % lowering.
Most of the enemies were killed by me but often we were locked out with like 5-6 enemies behind a black screen (glitch?) in a corridor, of wich atleast one healer and two pyromantics so it was impossible to deal with them since killing the healer already took too much time not to die in the first place. This was also the point i was fed up with it....

They're group dungeons(of which the game should've warned you upon entering), I assume the one you were in is Spindleclutch(?).

You're supposed to have a group of 4 people for them, 2 dps(damage dealers), 1 tank and 1 healer. Sounds like you didn't have a tank which is probably where most of your problems come from. Tank is someone pretty...hardy, usually wearing heavy armor and carrying sword&board around, his job is taunting and cc-ing hard hitting mobs and bosses(taunt is a skill that makes mobs focus that person and no one else, CC stands for Crowd Control which is stuff like DK talons which roots mobs in place and doesn't let them move). Healer's job is to keep everyone up and dps' job is to deal damage.

Another tip you may not know is that you can interrupt a lot of things in this game, such as healers' healing and pyromancer's heavy attacks(that wave of fire) usually. You can do this either by using Crushing Shock skill morph in Destro staff skill line(if you use a destruction staff, which it doesn't sound like you do) or by simply bashing them up close(it's usually, though not always, tank's job since he tends to be up close anyway). That should reduce the time it takes to kill an enemy healer considerably.

I'm not sure what "black wall" you're talking about, it's been a while since I've done non vet Spindleclutch. I know there're black portals in Elden Hollow(or is that only vet?) which sometimes can prevent you from seeing mobs behind them and the like, I don't recall anything like that in Spindle though. A bug perhaps?
