The capes you want can't be put in the game, it will be lag fest
The capes they can add to the game, you don't want.
Does anyone actually care why they would or would not add capes at this point? They really don't need to be spending any development time on it whatsoever.
Wait, really? How would capes make a lag issue?? Someone explain this to me?
It's a cosmetic .__. with maybe like....four or five animations on it.

We should all care. They nit only look cool but serve as an extra armor or accessory for set bonuses.
I'm sure they will eventually add it. They still draw the scarves and half capes in the dlc art.
In order to make the dynamic animations of the cape, there has to be a lot of 'points' on it in order for it to move naturally. Otherwise it'd just look like a piece of paper or bit of cardboard.
I don't really know how to explain it properly but basically the fact that you can move your character in so mamy different ways, literally thousands, they can't just make an animation and stick it on there. It has to be dynamic and change depending on its conditions.
I played an mmo which had capes with really good dynamic animation, but my god did it drop performance by a lot.
Dynamic hair is a similar issue. You'll notice that the hair on characters is mostly just a 'chunk' of hair with maybe a bit of animation. It's just simply not possible in the game engine I guess.

Now I just wonder if this is why Batman Arkham knight had so many optimization issues on the PC.
Capes ruining video games. Who knew o__o; I don't think I would mind a more static cape though. I used a mod in Skyrim for a cape and the cape itself really didn't move too much and I thought that was fine. Especially cuz it was a hooded cowl sort of cape with a mask and everything. Didn't really look like flapping cardboard, but it wasn't the most dynamic thing I've ever seen.
I think I get what you're saying but now I'm rly curious what the game ruining mechanic is
