Something Wrong with RNG

I always get the Nerien'eth's helm with my NB which is low level (v10) but i farmed with my sorc like a hell before but it never dropped for my sorc. Same thing for shoulders too i always get maw of the infernal shoulder or malubeth the scourger shoulders with my DK it cant be luck...

    Cluster problem.
    Basically, if the generated numbers 1, 2, 3 equal Nerien'eth, the game has no worries spitting out those shoulders over and over again for you, as 2-3-1-2-2-3 appears to be a random sequence for the program, but for you it turns out to be the very same item. Very simply said.
    Windows is said to have similar problems, and I can absolutely promise you that the game Destiny suffers a lot from this. RNG isn't true randomness, after all.

    must say i do loot alot of the shoulders on light armor come to think of it on my dk tank ;P

    On my sorc I always seem to get good loot when I switch from my DW overload bar to my destro staff bar.

    Probably just a mix of coincidence and superstition but Ive gotten most good pieces (Infused Engine Guardian, Infused Nerienths and Divines Molag Kena) with my destro staff active.

    Does everyone get Kena heavy with Infused?! You're the third person I know (myself included) to get it when we only have 1-2 of them.

    RNG is fine and is not broken. Random is Random no matter what class or character you play. RNG is a horrible reward system but it is easy to implement and that is why companies use it all the time. If you were in charge would you rather use the simplest loot system with the least amount of thought on your part or a system that requires hundred if not thousands of hours to perfect and implement.....of course the second choice would be much more balanced and actually reward people for putting in the work, but then it would also cost A LOT more to make viable. RNG is simple and easy from DEV standpoint and horribly chaotic and unbalanced from the player standpoint, but it is cheap and we will probably see a lot more of it in the future

    But computer generated "random" isn't really "random". It's a code written to generate a number that's supposed to be random based on some set starting value(like in this case maybe it's, say, date of your character's creation or something, I dunno). Some "RNG" algorithms are better than the others. The one ESO uses I'd say obviously blows. There're plenty of examples of some people having amazing luck with like every single drop this game has while others would run dungeons HUNDREDS of times and not get a SINGLE monster head.
    And yes, I am aware that it's possible to flip a coin 50 times in a row and get same side all 50 times. However, when this happens to multiple people in multiple situations multiple times in a row you do begin to wonder if perhaps this coin only has one side...

    Rng sucks bad. Since the game released on console and running pledges everyday I never got a monster helm drop in the last 2 weeks I've picked up 6 helms running the pledges twice aday on my NB and Templar.

    Almost every drop I have gotten in vWGT has been well-fitted. All but one of my set drops have been, with the only piece not WF was an infused Spell Power Cure Sash (tho note, I got two WF sashes as well). Even the only Kena helm I have gotten in all my runs (30ish) is WF. Certainly doesn't seem like true RNG. Gotta love it~

    actually RNG is not as random as you think...

    computers work on specific alghorythms and they can even be predicted... computer is unable to be random..it just cant.. this is actually quite interesting...you should read up on that..

    Computer actually has to be told whats "random" and then he tries to do it, but it actually uses a very strict set of rules to generate random numbers...but in the end its really not random.. lol

    i dont know how to explain it very well but i tried lol

    I guess bind-on-account would solve this kind of issues, but perhaps implement others instead (like lowering the replayability value of the dungeons/shortening lifetime of the game etcetera).

    The only problem with RNG is the impossibility to turn around and sell your two duplicate V16 Monster Helm you looted in a night of crawling dungeons, to the guy next to you that has been grinding 6 months straight for it and that is a hair's breath away from quiting because of the frustration.

    RNG is RNG, the fact its a machine algorythm makes it implicitely only random because of the underterminable amount of user derived variables. The base code will make the system give you the exact same result if the parameters it involves are exactly the same. So no, its not truly random. But for all sakes and purposes, it is random. Now, if this was true Randomness it would still be a problem because someone might toss the dice 50 times and NEVER GET A GDMN SIX.

    BOP is the problem <- . (And to a certain extent so is BOE).
    Just go with something else if you want to avoid farmers/gold farmers. Introduce BOT (bind on trade). Loot you get that you cannot list in guild stores or send through mail payment. Gear that is ONLY tradeable from one character, to another character ONCE and that binds to the recipient. Or SOMETHING like that.... anything is better than @)#(%* BOP

    Bro believe me it is a problem..because if ZOS made their own algorithm maybe its not very good...

    now im not saying this because i think RNG in this game sux, because i dont care about that since i never do PvE outside of lvling and im not even trying to get pve gear..

    im saying this because there can be problems with RNG system...and it may not even be ZoS fault...somtimes internal logic is completely fine but the end result can be disasterous.

    for example: does RNG "counter" reset after each boss or does it just save the last position..this can greatly decrease one's chance to get an item..

    also how dies their percentage works...

    one fix would be to have an internal variable in code as counter for how many times RNG ticked off for each boss...and after you did not recieve the item thats considered end goal to obtain. the system could add percebtage to the counter for item so next time you have 1-2-3% more chance to obtain it.. so after a while you must get it... RNG is fine but it needs tweaking to make it less random

    The RNG in this game is terrible. Like....truly terrible. I've posted about this on these forums. They need a group bind for dungeons runs.

    I don't believe there is true RNG in this game. I have taken my share of statisics classes, and I do not think RNG accounts for what I see. I am 99% certain that there is gear seeding that occurs. I have been running vwgt 3-5 times a night for the last 2 weeks, in what seems to be a futile effort to round out a few sets in there (mainly SPC). The number of double drops I get (same exact piece in back to back runs) is insane. It would be statistically outrageous (admittedly not impossible) for this to happen as much as it does. Seeding is a much more plausible explanation. The sad thing is that seeding is worse than RNG...

    I could arm a zerg with V16 engine guardian shoulders. I have not had a V16 helm drop, despite a reasonable farming effort. I have 5 or 6 Skoria helms in V16, and I bet I havent run that place more than 10-12 times since they raised the level cap. Shame that set is useless. Oh well. All Praise RNGesus. Back to the grind...

    Edit: One run last night and got SPC Belt and Helm (5th and 6th unique type of gear, 16th piece total). Still missing boots, but I can run it now. Oh RNGesus...
