Champion Points, Passives, and you.

I apologize if this is a duplicate thread or this question has been answered somewhere.... I tried to search for this and was drowning in 100 of topics about how broken Champion Points are :)

I am wondering how do Champion points stack? Do they stack with your gear enchants and/or racial passives?

For example, if I'm a Breton with reduced cost jewelry, would it be better for me to invest in reduced cost CP stars to magnify that already large benefit since there is no soft cap? Or do CPs not stack that way?

For regen: (base regen + gear) * passives * cp
For crit damage: base crit damage + other modifiers + cp
    For cost reduction: Look here
    For damage reduction: (1 - armour reduction) * (1 - other reduction) * (1 - cp reduction)

Yup, they stack. So your Breton guys Racial passive Magicka Mastery 3/3 is 3%. Inside The Tower, Magician: Reduces the Magicka cost of Spells by [x]%. I think 100 CS into it is 25%? Then add onto that the reduction cost bonus on your jewelry.

3% + 25% + whatever is on your jewelry + whatever is given via equipment. I think the jewelry is just a number value and not a percent. Alternatively, check out the posters comment above mine for a better more exact value.

The reduction is applied to the cost on the tooltip screen. It's pretty easy thing to miss. But you can see it being adjusted if you reset CS points/skills/take off armor etc.

....Or have a add-on to help with that.

I don't think they stack that cleanly. See the post above yours.

There is not a soft cap, however there is an order of operations. So, for example, one is reduce cost by 3%, two reduces cost by 5%.

One will reduce it to 97%, the second one will reduce 5% of the remaining 97%

A thread somewhere has the order listed. But there is deminishing returns of cost reduction.

My brain honestly hurts from trying to figure out these dang points. So many variables I wonder how people actually min-max in this game :)

I really appreciate the help guys thanks so much for your time and resources.

    @Takes-No-Prisoner mind recommending an add-on? :)

Lol now take it one step more...

Each ability (each one uses stamina/magicka and weapon damage/spell damage to calculate) has a different equation to calculate it's damage.

So the increase in max magicka will have a different effect on Crystal Frag than the effect max magicka has on encase, just an example.

You would have to go through each ability and figure out max magicka and spell damage to truly min/max your specific build.

    :)

Mmm-hmm, and also frequency of each used skill for benefit of boosting for one rather than the other....
