I felt the same thing about the level of challenge (mind you I'm only level 21) until I entered a crypt in northern Deeshan. I died there several times against big groups of undead and super-ghost bosses!

Never experienced such a hard area until now! :p

Go solo public dungeons (not the regular open dungeons and not the group dungeons - public dungeons are harder than regular open dungeons, and easier than group dungeons) and go to areas above your level. And solo dolmens and world bosses.

The when you get to VR levels mobs also get a little harder in proportion to your level...and if that's still not enough again go to higher level VR areas (and solo the public dungeons again).

Goto orsinium and solo a world boss then say the mobs aren't a challenge lol

I soloed a world Boss when Orsinium was on PTS with a sorc! Also on live with magicka DK, they only Need time, very equivalent to the mae´lstrom Arena!

Which Wrothgar world boss did you solo?

Setup for crowd control and sustain instead of meta burn builds and this is just a matter of practice to learn the fight patterns and mechanics. Have done King Edu, Mad Ogre, and Nursery with dest/resto, dw/resto, and s&b/resto magicka Sorcerer. Nyzchaleft Falls might be the hardest for me because of the constant arrow firing that I don't have the stamina to dodge long-term.

I agree to nearly everything OP stated but don't expect to see any of it change at this point.

i must say i'm kinda glad you can so mutch solo.
I play on xbox one and it's really hard to find other people to play with.
this is because no zone chat (which you need text to spread out to a large zone or get cluttered really fast (which is comming!! can't be soon enough though)) so if i was forced to do quest with a group i would probably gotten frustrated to the point i wouldn't be playing anymore. i'm currently leveling up my 4th character yet never really touched craglorn. mainly it's not that easy to find other players to do it with and i don't have a real reason to go ther eto be honest. if i want harder solo content if go IC. group content i go dungeons.
IC is way more rewarding although the risk of getting ganked is there and dungeons are more challeging with change of rare gear.

of course the mobs are easy. The whole point of leveling is to get experience and try skills to find what will work for you in the end-game content. Group dungeons, PvP, Trials, Arenas, etc are all what we are working to complete. I always think of it as levels 1-vet15 are just tutorials and learning to play your class/race. Once you hit v16 you should be ready to tackle anything this game can throw at you. Try different skills, champion point combos, gear, weapons, enchanments,.....make a couple different characters with different classes. The open world is more of a proving ground for builds or gear. The real test is end-game content
