Looking for a build

Haven't been successful yet. I am 100% PvE solo as much as humanly possible. I've been suggested by a couple people to try sorcerer which is the class I know by far the least about.
I am looking for a build either stamina or magicka, whichever will be easier for me to stay alive.
I understand the pets can tank very well, so I figure that's two skills right there. I also understand power surge is typically used. What should I be using for my other 2 skills as my primary damage? I'd use either dual wield or staff, whichever more effective

✭✭Never played sorcerer but every build starts the same way...... slot random stuff and see what can kick ass
that's how every build starts off..... maybe slot some snares ???? 1 -

✭For solo PvE I would suggest taking a look at my pet build. If can solo lots of content designed for groups and does very well if / when you decide to team up with some friends.

Last question, what about aoe?
The flex spot on bar one should have Elemental Ring slotted for AOE encounters, and Crystal Frags for single target fights.
The flex spot on the Overload bar should have Liquid Lightning slotted while soloing where high mobility is not required or while grouped with a competent Tank.
The use of flex slots is outlined in the Skills section of the build.
Naerien Eth Monster Set and Meteor are additional options at your disposal, though I value Overload too highly to slot Meteor very often.0
