Dedicate a DLC to fixing bugs and lag

Credit where credit is due. The latest Xbox patch has fixed all the ability glitches I was having trouble with from what I can see. The lag is still a slight issue in maelstrom but I'm able to complete it again without wanting to snap my controller. Good work ZOS!

I'm at the point of quitting this game. I love playing it with my mates but the lag and bugs are ruining the game. I'm at the point were all I want to do is very hard content like no death run on vet maelstrom arena. This is proving impossible on my magicka templar when my abilities jam up and completely stop working until I press L3. Which in maelstrom is very hard to do. That is just one example and I'm hoping if enough people acknowledge this poll Zos will consider addressing the problem in a professional way. This is the only way this game will die but I can see it happening. I would honestly be happy to pay my crowns for a DLC to just make the game playable and upgrade the servers.

I've never played a single game more frustrating than this one due to these issues. My wall is full of 30 second clips of vet maelstrom today were my abilities are jamming and the level is lagging 3 seconds behind. And before I get asked I have almost all of the maelstrom weapons.

I would just shut up and go play PvP. But it's worse...

Sure, I'd be fine if ZOS did that. Not sure if their bottom line would be though.

EDIT - To clarify my position. I wouldn't pay ZOS to do it. I took OP for asking if I'd be willing to skip or wait longer for a DLC, giving ZOS more time to debug.

Yeah I see. But I would be willing to pay them the normal price of a DLC to cover wages just to do it. And I'm sure most people who are doing serious content in this game would agree.

    That's ridiculous.
"DLC" means extra content that people have to and are ready to pay for.
I am definitely NOT READY to pay for bug-fixing, and I bet this time that 99.9% of us feel that way.

I completely understand your point but I will not last long if they keep churning out DLCs with new story missions while the good content already ingame is virtually unplayable for some of us. I know alot more people who would have completed VMsA right now if it was in better shape.

No matter what there is always going to be bugs, well they will fix them sometime then more will show up. Just expect, if your a console player not to get them instantly. Pc will always get the fixes first, then they apply to the consoles.
Because they are most likly forced to get microsofts and sonies aprovel for any patch, first before they apply it. Its most likely the reason why consoles have not received the last pc patch. They will fix bugs, just they can't do it all instantly. They will most likly merge all the pc patchs with consoles and add them as one big patch.
Baiscally what I just said I have seen said by other players but its much more likly that consoles are far strictor on whats downloaded onto them. Because they have to work with them, to do it. they might only allow them to be put on at certain times.

These abilities jamming have been around for over a year and don't even get recognition. All I want is a reason to keep playing. And a list of these things and a plan to fix them would give me that.

I've been subbed to this game for over a year. Even after subs weren't required, I kept mine, because I figured I would try to contribute to the game getting better. Well, it might be getting better for some, but it isn't for me. Bugs are killing what little enjoyment I get from this game anymore. I've stayed so long because of the friends I've met on this game and played with, both in PvE and PvP, but now even they're leaving.
I paid, knowing that this wasn't a "finished product", but expecting that we, the people who have been loyal customers, would see improvement to our gaming, but it seems like the more profitable option is to make new stuff, even though the old stuff is still broken. Yeah, ZOS is a business, I know that, and they're going to go with what they believe is the more profitable route, but... I just can't justify paying for this game anymore. And especially to "pay" them to fix the stuff I've already been "paying" them to fix?!? Nah bruh. I'm done.
I will be unsubscribing, so that at least I can say that I'm getting what I'm paying for.

You don't dedicate an entire quarter to fixing bugs, as it is a futile effort. All new features alter the codebase and have a chance of introducing new issues. This is why you have separate departments working on maintenance and new features. Dedicating a DLC to bugs isn't a real thing.

Consider that ZOS is made up of various teams, a lot of the 'devs' are not involved in bug fixing at all, they're doing QA, writing dialogue, making animations and textures, designing new skills/systems etc. You can't successfully put them all on bug fixing, because some of those people simply don't have the qualifications to do complex coding. Those that do, are often not in the loop and gotta be brought up to speed, while the others can't proceed to finish new content. I imagine it to be very inefficient to devote an entire quarter to bugfixing.

I'm not paying for a DLC that would only fix bugs for those people who have that DLC. Bug fixes must be for everyone.

I think they should focus heavily on bug fixes and optimisation after dark brotherhood, as it stands on console there's barely anything you can do, wanna pvp in a competitive campaign (Azuras) Nope because you literally can't move for the lag. Wanna do some dungeons and try to get them gold keys? Nope you've been in the group finder for four hours and no one you ask wants to do PVE. So if you can't pve or pvp, what do you do? Cyrodiil quests or level another character through the boring zones you've seen a hundred times, not exactly a "fun" game at the moment.

It's on alot of people end mate. Try doing Vet maelstrom without a death and you will get it. I'm playing a magicka templar and the fix they just did with blazing spear worked wonders for the ability jamming I was getting. It's still laggy sometimes which I can understand (I'm playing in Australia). But that was never my main issue. Now I can ise my abilities consistently and rely on puncturing sweeps working thus keeping me alive. I'm pretty happy with it.

And to clarify I wasn't talking about buying a DLC of bug fixes. I just meant using a 3 month period to fix bugs. However I love the game and was at the point of quitting in which case I personally would have paid for the fixes if the game was perfect.

Nice quoting only half a sentence. You're being cynical, so I'm not sure you're even interested in my reply, but yes, they do QA. They're missing a lot of stuff, I agree. That was not my point in my previous post at all though.

Point is: There is NO QA team at all. Just logging into the game and testing the changes they applied (just the changes not even more than that) would have prevented so much garbage we still have to suffer from.

As an example: They fixed fishing Poles to work even when more than 2 people are fishing in Orsinium.
Result: You get 2 Fish from them each catch now. Just catching 1 single fish would have shown this exploit. But now it's in the game and it will probably stay for months.

And to believe that 100+ skills not working correctly and 50+ other mechanics being completely broken does not bother you is ...

i believe they will, they just have no ETA right now.

    serious note.
Do i want Bugs fixed? yes.
Would i pay for it? Yes.
    Would others? NO
Can they afford to skip a DLC and dedicate those resource to Bug Fixing? NO

and why.... because bug fixing is for code monkeys. New content requires the other 90% of the team, it will hardly make a dent in the resolution of the outstanding issues. it will cost them that revenue and future revenue from players leaving the game because there is nothing new to do. in short what you suggest may as well ask them to pull the plug. the only viable way is to get some additional resources to work on bugs not re-allocate existing ones.

on a side note. They probably have all their QC testers (that 1 guy. jk.) testing bugs, and trying to replicate them for the fixes. i doubt they bother to check incremental patches with the QA guys they just run some inputs through the code and check they get the right outputs.
