TESO needs a wardrobe system badly. Something similar to WoW's tmog system would make this game one of the best mmorpg out there!

Where was this actually stated? I know they've said this year but where is the confirmation of Q2?

I agree with ZOS on very little but in regards to the barbershop they have kept us very well informed. You need to watch the ESO live broadcasts where it has been mentioned multiple times AND it was mentioned in road ahead. They can't answer every little question and repeat it every time someone doesn't want to pay attention.
Sorcerna, proud beta sorc. RIP April 2014 to May 31 2016 DArk Brotherhood. Out of retirement for negates and encases. Sorcerna will be going back into retirement to be my main crafter Fall 2018. Because an 8 k shield is f ing useless. Died because of baddies on the forum. Too much qq too little pew pew. 16 AD 2 DC. 0 EP cause they bad, CP 2300 plus 18 level 50 toons. NA, PC, Grey Host#SORCLIVESMATTER actually they don’t or they wouldn’t keep getting nerfed constantly.

Actually... last word we had was in their "Year Ahead", under "DLC and Update Plan", saying:
Longer term, expect to see information about systems like a character customization shop so you can change your character's gender, appearance, name, etc., player housing, and other systems that we'll announce in the future. We'll have much more information about all of these as the year progresses.

Meaning, it will come -after- the Q2 Dark Brotherhood DLC.
    So... yeah... "no ETA" indeed.
When many of us really, really want it...

If I got a penny for every barbershop thread on this forum I would be rich!

I do hope however that that fact alone is enough for them to actually make it happen. Soon.

Where did I say "introduce those later in the year"? I said "...-after- Q2..." which could be... anytime, really.
I certainly am -hoping- it will come "later in the year", very much so considering how long we have been waiting... but I know all too well there is no gurantee of that. Might come in July. Might come for christmas. Might come next year.
I am already slightly hating them for delaying it this long... we have been told it would come back in 2014... before the console release put everything else on hold... stuff like IC, Wrothgar, TG&DB, which only now is finally being released... so I really hope it'll be sooner then all those "worst case scenarios". But I know that's only a hope, and nothing more.

Would love to see a barber shop just because my friends and I can be extremely picky about appearance. It was only on the fitfh reroll that I was completely satisfied with my character's looks. Lost two 10+ and two 5+ characters and some bag space upgrades in the process. A crown store re-customization kit or some such could have prevented that. Still, worth it.

If I got a penny for every /feedback I did asking for a barber shop since beta, I would be rich too.

Sorry but an MMO just has certain things that players expect to see these days. Quality of life things, like transmog armour and recustomisation. This keeps players happy, as well as earns a load of cash for the game.

I am baffled that they would rather develop horrible outfits that change bodyshapes instead.

What many newer people may overlook is that a lot of us did our research and picked classes with soft cap as a consideration. Choosing a class with soft caps and choosing a class without soft caps most likely result in a different race, excluding those who choose for lore. This is creeping up on two years of patience. Once soft caps and game mechanics such as scaling heals off spell instead of weapon damage and a great many changes, the option to change race should have been provided. I remember when max magicka regen was 97 = 970 so Breton made more sense than high elf, just an example. Oh, well... just wait some more.

Exactly, back then Breton racials were powerful, now the 3% reduced magicka cost is just laughable for 3 skill points!! I also had a khajiit magplar which was ok with soft caps, I just put less into health and more into magicka but got relatively as powerful as other races. Now that char is a hireling and bank mule. I wish I could play my favourite race but I can't cause when I log on my High Elf she is so much better with the same build.

I've always held the belief that there is a big difference between pacing content and diluting it.

ZoS has ALWAYS, non hyberbolically, assumed the former when it came to content. Craglorn, the first end-game content besides pvp wasn't available at launch. You had characters at max level and doing nothing for at least a month.

Quarter 3 or 4 this year, seems logical, but we are talking about ZOS lol
  • BlackWormDisciple
Hopefully while we wait for the barber shop, ZOS adds additional, lore-friendly AND proven customization options to the game soon. Stuff we know already exists for certain races - fairer Imperial skin tones, black hair for Nords, Altmer having access to black, dark red, and dark brown (personal favorite color to contrast with their pale gold skin) hair colors, etc.

Shouldn't be hard to add those options in since they exist as appearance options NPCs of those races have already and are proven in the lore through previous games and lore books - including ones in ESO (dark haired Altmer mentioned in the book "The Year 2920, Vol. 4" aka 2920, Sun's Dawn).

All I want for this "barber shop" is a possibility to rename my characters like good ol'days of showracemenu, an ability to cure my Altmer from scurby (c'mon, why they all need to be yellow-ish) and add pigtails to some of them, like Eveli Sharp-Arrow

They also mentioned it on ESO Live. It's not currently in the Q1 or Q2 plans which puts earliest release for the Barber Shop around July/August/September time but it may be even later.

Please notice that they say we'll see INFORMATION about such "systems"....NOT the systems themselves. It's freaking maddening. DO IT ALREADY ZOS!!!!!

I might return to ESO if/when they add this feature. I keep checking back with the forums every now and again just to see if anything has changed, but in the end I have too many other ways to waste my time than to continually be strung along for 2+ years with a promise of "soon" for a basic feature that should have been in the game from the initial release.
