I want to know what happens with our weapons and armour. Instead of its level saying VR16, it's going to say something like "Level 501 CP"? That would be weird and laughable.

This. There should still be veteran levels because we need to know the strenght of a char, but they would be like from 0 to 100 champ points you are Vr 1, then Vr 2 to 200 and so on to Vr 6

If we still have the label "VR1, VR2" etc, doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose of removing veteran ranks?
Something like CR100 to show which enemy player is Champion Rank 100 might be a bit longer than VR10, but still provides the same info, in fact more helpful info, because we will know how many champion points they have.

double post
I realized I explained poorly first time: these "vet levels" would only be a way to reflect the number of champion points people have and from wich point they can use a new material and new gear.
So from 0 to 100 CPs we would be V1, using kresh fiber, calcinium and birch to make V1 gear.
From 100 to 200 CPs we would be V 2, using ironthread galatite and ash etc..

So you hit 50 and magically have 300+ skillpoints, BiS gear, alliance rank 25 and all the achievements unlocked? I guess I'm out of date because I never saw anything like that in the ZOS comments on VR removal.

I ask because after reading the comments you may be under a false impression.
I'm not sure if you are referring to myself or the person I quoted, who was upset about his V16 characters suddenly being level 50 like everyone else. Which I completely understand. If you put that much work into something and then you suddenly appear the same as everyone else that only took a couple days of playing to get there, it is pretty frustrating. Seeing the number above your head as a rank can be important sometimes.
Me personally - it is close to the same thing. If my characters reach 50 and from then on they just stay at 50, I'll probably stop playing those characters because levelling is part of what I play for. Sure, I will play through all of the content one time, but normally I play these games for years with a lot of alts and having goals like levelling is a good part of what keeps me here. It is a real sense of achievement seeing that number above the character's head go up for some of us. Keep in mind I have zero interest in PvP and am not levelling specifically to hit endgame and attain the best gear, because at that point I am just done with the game. I prefer visible level progression as a challenge that keeps me going.
I understand completely that people who are in this only for PvP for endgame things do not have the patience to level a bunch of alt characters up, and that's why I suggested it being optional. You can just get a choice at 50 and those of us that don't want alts to skip everything can choose that.
Why would anything happen to them? You'll still be able to go to the cadwell gold and silver zones if you want to.

They will be able to just have top armour on any new alts once they reach lvl 50?
The mats for crafting V1 to V14 gear won't become useless, still needed for people who are below champion rank X; eventually, however, there will be very few of those people.
