Phoenix Set Opinions?

I was looking at the Phoenix Set for my dps magicka templar, but am unsure on how it would preform in large-scale pvp. If I were to resurrect in the middle of the enemy's surge while we're getting wiped, I can't imagine that being all to amazing. However, if I could rez when I had just died from a maxed Camo Hunter while in the siege, that could be pretty beneficial.
So, anyone have an opinions or experience on how the set plays? I am aware of the exploit, but don't have too much interest of using it.

I think it's a pretty cool set and decent 5 peice ability. It also looks amazing. I found it most useful for preventing getting ganked in ic and losing all stones. After the initial death, I have had the opportunity to just streak away. As a Templar I think it would definitely worth trying, you may find it save you from death many times so long as you have some team mates still slive close by. But for pvp I would rather have a Templar wearing Kagernacs to help with quick reses. But anyway the set is fun and worth trailing out.0 -

Essentially, as for the exploit, instead of having the 10 minute cool-down you revive every single time and are basically unkillable. I'm not sure how it's done, all I know is my guildies hate it in Cyrodiil.
I've never considered it for a sorc, but the revive-then-streak-away doesn't sound too bad. I was planning on having this until my crafting char was able to make light armor Kagrenak, when I would fully convert her to healer. For Imperial Sewers, though, saving the few telvar stones I gather would be very beneficial. But I think the whole idea of reviving in the middle of a losing zerg may just kill it for my templar. However, for my new sorc, this may be something to better consider.0 -

✭Eeh not for a Templar. It's an awesome set for a magicka solo sewer nb. What makes it great on an nb is after the explosion and heal you can cloak and escape. Sorcs can sometimes pull it off. Temps and Dks not so much. It's not really a rest for them.
The big was fixed long ago. What was happening was if you were knocked down the animation couldn't fire but the heal would go off without the cd being triggered.Killed by Sunshine 1vX How I see it.

✭✭I use it as a templar healer who leads pvp groups. It's as you say. When you're being swarmed there's really nothing you can do, but it allows you to avoid the quick ganks and random bugs like fall damage (or regular fall damage jumping off high areas). If you run with a group you'll probably be better off with kags though. You'll have to deal with the annoyances of Cyrodiil, but it'll help your group more.1 -

✭✭✭✭✭I'm actually surprised more people don't wear the set. As a vampire templar, it became a necessity for me to last more than 3 seconds with all the 8K stacking camo hunters flying around. I would conservatively estimate that 2/3 of the time it procs, I get away from the sticky situation that would have killed me. You do not get any stat bonuses from the 5th set, but it lets you play more aggressively which is difficult to quantify.Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.1 -

IC vendors, the armour merchant, theres an advanced one i think as well.
The blue boxes gives you a chance for any v15 IC armour with any trait. There 800 stones i believe? Haven't checked for a while
The purple boxes from the advances vendor cost 4k? (maybe 5k) per go and give v16 equipment purple quality.
Anyway it's in your home base in IC sewers.

✭✭✭✭✭I honestly want it for PvE... I'm wondering how this armor works against bosses with auto kill moves. I'm thinking because sometimes mistakes are made I could also really use an extra life every 10 minutes.
Does anyone know if a boss resets if this effect occurs? Or will the battle just continue like I hope?0 -

HOWEVER, it has two major glitches (on Xbox at least) that make it very hard to use.
1. Sometimes, the Phoenix animation will go off when you are killed and will explode, but the set will not heal you and you'll still die.
2. Everytime, the Phoenix set animation goes off when you are resurecting someone, that person will no longer be able to be revived by ANYONE. Also, the blue 'reviving' circle will be frozen on your screen.
I have created tickets about these major flaws and posted twice on these forums about it. Its amazing to me that this set has been out since June and is STILL functionally broken. I would highly advise against using this set in any kind of group play environment.N64 NA EP0 -

✭Although I don't see that many people proccing the 5 piece, those that do always die again seconds after the res. I have honestly never seen anyone res from phoenix and live to kill again, or even escape. So my opinion is that it's a waste of a 5-slot.PC | EU0 -
jhharvest✭✭✭I was occasionally able to run away after Phoenix procced but my problem was that half the time the animation would play but I wouldn't revive. Obviously I scrapped the thing.0

✭✭Don't use it, at least, not the 5th piece.
The first bonuses are nice (max magicka, magicka recovery and spell damage), pretty much a second Magnus, but the 5th one is so buggy...
Basically, you have 50% chance of not getting healed and dying instantly. Cool, heh? Happens VERY frequently when you have an AoE DoT at your feet.
Using it as a placeholder until Kagrenac, I can tell you it is extremely rare when, not only it doesn't bug out, but also when you actually make a comeback. If your resources are low after the healing, you're dead anyway.

(pvp) IMO if you're in a situation where you're going to die it doesn't matter whether you have that extra bit of spell damage. You're probably going to die regardless. Most people think of it as a second chance... it's really not. You can use it to be more aggressive as Joy said. You regen stats while in the form. A lot of times I regen just enough stamina for a roll dodge and use that right as I come out. It lets me get away or I manage to run the enemy in circles for quite a while before they get me. This is as a healer. As a DPS let's say why not use it to try and get a bigger burst rotation in instead of popping a dodge roll or shield?
Maybe my favorite thing about it is you can use doors while in Phoenix form, so enemies always think they got me trying to get back in the keep but nope... Phoenix and in the door for a full heal.
