https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3at_Ev2kOoIIt happens even when im just standing in a town doing nothing...just random freeze, crash, black screen...
Only way to get out of it is to ctrl alt delete and try to close the process...
In dungeons, in pvp, in towns, doesn't matter weher and is completely random, even without addons..
Started happening with imperial city update and got worse with orsinium.

You will also be better off posting in the technical support forum and providing them system information.

However, this may be a local issue. That is a good thing, in some respects, because at least there is something you can do about it without having to wait for ZOS to issue a fix. It could be anything from a driver to some bit of hardware that is not exactly performing correctly.
If you have not done so, you might want to check the Event Logs to see if something posted an error. At one time I had a flaky graphics card that appeared to work perfectly but crashed ESO randomly. It passed every test I was throwing at it for 2 weeks before I finally caught it. The only way I knew where to look for the problem was because of the Windows Event Log and the error that was tossed in there.
I run 5.5GHz on my 2700K (I think it's base is 3.5GHz?)...but I didn't have this problem until I installed Windows 10. Have had it running like this since 2011.
Thought it might be caused by the fact that I have ESO added to Steam (gotta have my Overlay!) but it does it even when I launch "ESO.exe" directly.
Haven't cared enough to look further. If it was crashing my game like mentioned by others I'd dig deeper.
*EDIT*
I do not OC my GPU.
This little guy ' , ' is powerful.
ESO might not be as forgiving of dropped or corrupt information as the operating system itself is. I have a 2500K and I went back to stock speed a long time ago. I haven't had a problem since launch that wasn't related to ISP.
Edit: Also the longer a chip is overclocked the faster you are going to have trouble with it. It may be stable, but it won't stay that way as long as a stock chip will.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDgcc5Sif3kFor giggles, I'll try deleting that UserSettings.txt file. Mine only does this when I go to Log Out / Quit. Thankfully it never does it while I'm playing.

I understand (IT Professional) the consequences of OCing. But I sincerely appreciate the heads-up!I get STUPID deals on PC hardware, so when it comes to my PC Components...

Besides, then I can tell the wife, "I was due for an upgrade, anyway..."
My work is half the reason I don't investigate the issue further, though. "It works", and after messing with hardware and software all day...yeah...I don't care if it errors when I close it lol.
It's not overclocking causing it, it's ESO. I have nothing overclocked and still same random crashes.
Only happens on ESO, with or without addons, with or without graphics enhancers, with or without anything.
Still happens.

It may not help any (and you may have already done it) but next time this starts to happen, go to a speed check site and test your bandwidth. I tend to have problems is my upload speed drops below 1 Mbit. That may be fast enough to run the game, but not when other folks in my house are also using the connection, especially for video (shared router).

Thanks but im on a fibre connection that never drops. Around 40 download, 10 upload.

If you're using nVidia cards and you installed drivers past 35x.yz you might have some issues. Maybe AMD have similar issues too anyway... do not install latest drivers over and over. Just keep the most stable ones.
