I know in the past, when the game was patched, it would always take me 5-7 minutes to get to the initial character select screen. This was due to the creation of the ShaderCache.cooked file I believe. After the file got built, the game would make it to the character select screen in 30 seconds or less on subsequent logins until the next patch or rebuild of the file due to me changing graphics settings. I've noticed lately that the character select screen's AFK kick timer seems to be absurdly short compared to the ingame AFK timer. I don't know why they seem to be on different timers; I have to assume there is a good reason for it. The issue that I have is that now, when the game is creating my ShaderCache.cooked file, the game boots me due to inactivity before I can reach the character select screen. I don't know if this affects the creation of the file or not or possibly causes my game to perform worse; it sure seems to be getting worse in performance, but that may just be my mind playing tricks on me. It seems a bit stupid to have the game kick you for inactivity before you even make it to character select.
