Tell me, what is the eso player base? Would you agree that it is in hundreds of thousands? How many players (2000 player cap per server) are on on prime time? At the very least if you do not like those numbers, I will still maintain that PVE Playercount > PVP playercount. Now even in the pvp community, all those guilds running 20-40 people raids do seem to enjoy that kind of gameplay. If they didn't, then they wouldn't bother to have everyone on teamspeak, obey orders and be organised around the crown as the zerglings so very much like. If they enjoy the game as it is then, they do have the right to say that they do not want any changes that would endanger their species. Must follow the broodmothercrown. My point here simply is that catering for PVP players might not be ZOS's number 1 priority after the amount of negative feedback and whines they received after imperial city. To conclude and perhaps to be a bit more constructive, I would say that first the lag issues should be taken care of for that includes all players. Perhaps they should add the Panda race, that would be original.

The issues streamers bring up constantly

    a) Aoe Caps - I agree with this.

    b) Lag - This should be the #1 priority.

    c) Ball groups - Only works because siege sucks, no AOE caps and self healing and overall survivability for DPS is way too strong.

    d) no small scale pvp - I don't care about this in the slightest. I came to ESO for Cyrodill PvP. Arenas would be an absolute joke in this game especially given the fact that in time every build ends up being a tank, healer and dps all in one. (This is the biggest problem with ESO's combat.)

    e) Breath of life is apparently OP - I don't agree with this at all. The issue is the fact that every single player can have great DPS and mitigation. DPS have absolutely no business being able to keep themselves up with multiple people beating on them without dedicated healers.

    f) Imperial city sucks - A DLC built around farming and ganking PvEers who are there only to grind telvar stones... yeh who didn't see that failing.

    g) gap closer spam - Gap closers are a joke in general. There is no ranged combat in this game outside of keep walls and large scaled zergs because gap closers are poorly designed. They root, silence and deal absurd amounts of damage.

Zos should not listen to any of those players. Actually, they aren't even players. They are working. They are making money. They want to keep making money playing a game.

Streamers are bias. They have an agenda. To look like the best players so that you will watch and they can make lots of money off you. Some may have good intentions at the surface, but don't be fooled...this is how they make a living and that money is the most important thing to them.

If they were biased wouldnt they be saying the game is awesome and that everyone should go buy it?? surely that would be better for their stream numbers than actually telling the truth and pointing out the giant *** holes in this game.

The average player doesnt know whats wrong with this game because they dont have the experience, the average player isnt going to dedicate their time to making videos showing the problems with the game (the same problems they cannot replicate in test servers), the average player doesnt go on the forums. The average player gives zero *** about this game they will play it for a few weeks then move on to Overwatch when it comes out.

oh yeah, the "normal" players who every day are killed in IC or cyrodiil and come to this forum saying: NERF NB! NERF DARK CLOAK! MAKE IC PVE!! GIVE US PVE'S MAGICKA DET OR VIGOR FOR FREE! Those streamrs don't play ESO only, they play other games and lots of people watch it. And the only dedicated streamer is sypherpk. All others have different jobs and play for fun.

I am a PVP player, but I enjoy the small group pvp with my friends. But small group pvp is bad as hell: If you are looking for AP, go in 20+ groups; if you are looking for a fair play, well, try to find another small group to fight, if you are looking for a fun play, try another game. because right now, if you wanna make a difference to your alliance, go with huuge zergs, if u wanna AP, go with huuge zergs, if u wanna have fun with a small group, go to the sewers kill pve'rs (oh wait, no we have huuuge zergs in the sewers too!).

Exactly here's is a example of players speaking for them selves on what they want.

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/225175/heavy-armor-needs-buffed-already/p1

Yes I may have started it but it was the community the players who submitted ideas and on like page 4 I did post again on some changes that players wanted in heavy armor.

This is what the players came up with not some no life streamers just wanting our money.

I don't mind streamers I watch some myself but when they are clearly just in it for money and say stuff on other behaves on a popular games they care not for I find that just sad.

I have nothing personal against them, I have even watched their youtube channels to get their perspective on builds or just for kicks. Just because you don't admire someone doesn't mean you're jealous of them. They play this game in a way that simply doesn't appeal to me. If a single person can 1v20 there is a serious lack of balance, which is really the only tangible contribution they have provided.

Im willing to entertain those notion - but where is the line drawn? 1v2? 1v5? Where is it OK and balance is drawn? Is it balanced I cant receive 50% damage mitigation when fighting 20 people alone? Why do they get it and I dont? Is it unbalanced I dont get any kind of assistance when being outnumbered? Talking about what is balanced is purely subjective - but to be clear.. its not my goal to be able to 1v20. Its my goal to get rid of artificial crutches in the game that have no positive value. As I said in the post earlier, I come from small group play, but 4v20 shares the same problems 1v20 does. Sadly enough, even the people that run 20 are complaining about the same issues against those that run 40 now that damage reductions in PVP has created the same problem smaller groups had.

But by all means guys, just attribute all arguments to a 1vX superman complex and not an overarching theme that has both diminished the quality of PVP both from its value and its performance.
I would say you're correct. They "solved" the problem by hitting everyone so hard with the nerf bat that we are now basically hitting each other with pool noodles.
    pool-noodles.jpg
    (Pic for reference.)
What many of us have been asking for a long time now is small scale PvP, which we thought we were getting with the justice system. But of course the idea for duels was scrapped. Then we thought we might get it with IC, but again, nope. No arena. There is a way they could give everyone what they want, but they have to first start to listen to what we want. And I mean everyone not just 5 people who get payed to play this game.

They so far haven't done much to address the issue of people zerging. There has to be a severe penalty to it or it's never going to stop and the lag will just continue to get worse. This game encourages people to move in a tight ball and spam AoE's. Maybe the answer is to include some friendly fire when spamming AoE's in zergs. Maybe they need to remove shield stacking. There have certainly been many ideas thrown out over the last two years, let's see if any of them actually work. So far the only thing they have accomplished is taking away the possibility to be effective with a small group or even solo.

Duels arent scrapped. From what Wheeler says theyre looking at getting it into game. If I remember correctly he said something about not wanting it to happen in cities. Im pretty sure he talked about this the same ESO Live episode he spoke about Arenas coming.

Justice System PvP is scrapped but they havent explained to us why.

More anti-streamer rhetoric from you - would probably be more constructive to talk about the stuff influencing the game than try to deface someones opinion because they are a streamer.

Theres countless amounts of people with good ideas on how to fix the game, I hear from them and read stuff from that on the forums all the time. They are the players that have been playing this game for a long time and have experienced the negative issues we see in game on a nightly basis. The difference between the streamers is they have a outlet to express these views and have gathered the community to put those ideas forward that a large part of the (PVP community in this case) agree on.

Youre basically saying players have no idea whats wrong with the game and we are hapless individuals toiling in the misery of 999+ ping wishing we could understand whats going on. Its pretty clear the game has undergone many changes in patches since it released and has gradually become a game that lags atrociously with less than half the amount of people on screen than it did at release. The players are not working at ZOS coding - but they can directly correlate their experiences with whats causing the negative impact. If the solution was simple, they would have gone and 'fixed' the code, but it isnt simple at all.. and thats why ideas to change gameplay have been suggested that would 1) enhance quality of PVP and 2) help do away with poor performance drops.

Youve had nothing positive to say and actually do have an agenda: to diminish the opinion of streamers. For what reason? Im not sure - your sole response on this appears to be 'we make money through this game'. I actually have had a career in net sec for many years now and only started streaming about 5 months ago. I can assure you I make my living from my job I work 40 hours a week, not streaming ESO in my offtime.

Streamers arent 'causing controversy' for the sake of views. Youre in these threads simple spreading lies - its pretty pathetic. If you disagree with the opinions of the streamers or any player, simply state why.. that is generally the normal way people would go about it. The only full time streamer (and student) is sypher - and he has just as many views and continues to grow when he plays other games (which he does). He doesnt make money from ESO, he makes money from streaming and interacting with his community. He is a pretty positive guy on everything too. I dont need ESO or streaming to 'make a living though' - so your entire argument is completely null and void. Give it a rest for us all please.

I think its hilarious that you think you can speak on the motivations and opinions of other players.

People are speaking on the motivations and opinions of players due to the fact that they are streamers as well - how is this any different???

The person you quoted is correct. We would do well to hype this game up to every viewer that came through the stream. As a streamer, I do actually talk about the positives when people come to my stream, like the wealth of content in the game. If they enjoy ESO series, there is a HUGE amount of content for them to get through. I tell them how the combat system is amazing, but the game is suffering from lag that is frustrating during primetime - but can be avoided by finding some smaller scale PvP (usually what they will see me doing on stream).

Its a pretty quick breakdown of how I see things for new players... so with that in mind, Id say the streamers promote the game. Regardless of what some peopel ask in chat, a majority of viewers will come to your stream, watch the game, and judge for themselves. @Sypher has been streaming ESO for A LONG TIME - and has put a lot of videos and content out. He has helped the community tremendously - to say otherwise would be terribly inaccurate.

The players you listed are great. Each and every one of them are very talented solo PvP players. Each and every one of them mostly want changes to ESO PvP that benefit solo players.

I also want some kind of solo PvP. Yet changing the open world AvAvA style of Cyrodiil is not the answer. Arenas will be added soon. Would imagine at said time a lot of the crying will also hush quite a bit.

So, even though they are strictly PvP, those mentioned are a large factor in why the community is the way it is. Everyone sees these streams/YouTube vids and wants to do what they're doing. The game was designed for you to play how you want. The large scale battles allowed for you to play as you want. Of course you have your min maxers, and that's a good reason for "arenas," so now we have all the balance "issues" popping up. They should be addressed but you're always going to have an opinion that causes waves.

So many accusations and assumptions about people's intentions and agendas with VERY little supporting evidence besides mere words.
The fact is, Zos needs to listen to everyone's concerns. The group players, solo players, new comers, veterans, casuals, min/maxers, PVP players, PVE players, PC, console, etc.

Why are we fighting each other and making accusations that have no effect on the game or what the devs fix/priorities?

I enjoy watching a few that were mentioned in the OP.

I absolutely love Lefty's top pvp videos where he shows other people's submissions. That's pretty selfless to me when compared to people plastering their faces all over their stream.

Im not disinterested in PVE content. Some are, streamers or not - some streamers stream only PVE content as well.

Ive done VMA over 50x on live, and tons more on PTS. Most of the bugs that were fixed in maelstrom I put together for ZOS. They watched my stream and participated in watching and reviewing it (shoutout to @Seiffer - he works on dungeon balance at ZOS and could attest to this - also is a pretty awesome guy to talk to in stream !) I discussed balance and class concerns in the area as well.

Thats a pretty fair amount of effort put into PVE. Ive done all of the trials, every dungeon, plenty of farming in all. Over 50+ imperial tower for molag kena helm, and even did sewers for viewers despite having no interest/reason for getting anything there.

Ill do the new PVE content that comes out in theives guild as well Im sure. Sooo.. saying disinterested in PVE??? No - Ive completed all of the quests available in the game lol. Dont draw assumptions please.

Im really upset they arent scaling up the trials and dragonstar for this next patch. Have spoke out about that on stream as a huge miss for this patch. Im pretty sure most of the PVE community would agree on this as well.

Yes and before that Sypher has in more than one stream professed to hating PVE and lacking general interest in it. The reason they're running Maelstrom is for weapons and for status symbol. Many have said over and over again that PVE is easy, and then the Maelstrom came out. It 's about try to keep up appearences.

wtb the "large scale" warfare I was promised in Beta. I could care less about dueling and arenas. If I wanted to solo yolo I would go play blacktops or something

this is all that goes on in BWB, HAD, AZURAS
except in bwb, its more like the advertise. in vet campaigns its more like "STACK ON CROWN!!!!!"... "UNMOUNT SNEAK!!"... "DONT CHASE, DONT CHASE!!!"

*** that, I rather SOLO PVP
but i understand that 1v20 or 1v10 for that matter is unrealistic.

If you can't beat someone 10v1 or 20v1 you need to stop "pvping" and go get some champion points and levels and gear....that's also ZOS' fault for the champion point system, but no one should be complaining they couldnt finish the guy thanks to a stupid system, these players don't even like the champion point system as well, to add to that, most of the players complaining they couldn't take someone 1v10 have similar champion points and just don't have the skill involved in getting the kill.

Look at any of king richard's youtube videos and you see players that are just plain bad getting 1v10'd I mean give me a break lol. Every single time I see players eating a CASTED crystal frag from king richard in a 1v1 I'm like "yup that's probably the guy on the forums complaining he wants a frag nerf lol"

    Lol real

Statistically speaking, every single streamer who has a fan base constitutes a reasonable sample size that can be used to further analyze how effective potential changes and suggestions may be for the game on the whole. Despite the fact that many don't want to be lumped in with those crowds is irrelevant - they don't want to be lumped in with you either. But I wouldn't assume that just because there is a gap between PvP playstyle that there won't eventually be something for everyone.

Take me for example, I do literally every type of content, ranging from duels to "siege warfare," and vMA to solo delves & quests. But I also don't think that ZOS is outright ignoring the aspects of the games that people like me enjoy, just because they made some decisions for game fixes or adjustments that a particular group supports. Just because that particular group doesn't agree with you or vice-versa is irrelevant.

I think it's also noteworthy to consider the fact that maybe ZOS intends to cater to certain wants of that particular group of PvPers because, well, that's what Cyrodiil is - siege warfare and zerg v zerg. That's how it was advertised pre-launch, and that's how it is now. They're going to have arenas and small-scale pvp, likely other pvp zones or battlegrounds at some point. So just be patient and find something you do enjoy until then.

Those players are fantastic players but I can go days and never find solo or small group players. It is not the common way players play. I watch these guys daily and although I respect them I can get more ap in one day than the above get in a week all together. I don't need arenas, battleground, or instanced duels and when it does come out it will be popular for a couple of weeks then it will be back to the alliance war. What I want... is the lag to be fixed. So honestly you and they don't speak for me... or many players.
Sorcerna, proud beta sorc. RIP April 2014 to May 31 2016 DArk Brotherhood. Out of retirement for negates and encases. Sorcerna will be going back into retirement to be my main crafter Fall 2018. A collection of words assembled by someone who likely has never progressed through vMA. The frustration, hours and hours of time, tens (or hundreds) of thousands of gold in repairs - do you really think all of that was for bragging rights alone? I guarantee if you complete it, you will have learned a great deal, and as such it will have made you a better player. I guarantee you that every single person who has completed vMA walked away as a better player, regardless of how many people were watching or what gear they did (or most likely didn't) get.
