Do you think this game can be a long term MMORPG on both console and PC?.

I recently started this game and loving it so far, really do.
As most MMORPG's,I am always scared about its future and population;can you see ESO in let's say 10 years on console and pc?.
Or seeing how PS5 is releasing in 4 years (?),could Zenimax abandon console players?.
That's what scaries me most, console version having less life cycle than pc for new generations coming up and seeing how there isn't cross platform,I'd lose my progress.

I'm not sure how consoles are but I am assuming PS5 would support PS4 games?

If Bethesda keeps making ES games what I think they will, Im staying here. If I see Bethesda right, they need at least another Fallout 4 success and ES6 is the best candidate for that.
As far as this game lasting 10 years....I hope so but it is many years behind on being a modern MMO.

While I agree, but I think ESO has one strong point and thats innovation/depth what most modern MMOs does not have. Eyecandy games comes and goes, let me say that much.

Absolutely, by my rough calculations there's enough room in tamriel for another 9 dlcs, not including the thieves guild and dark brotherhood. Also coldharbour is only one of 16 Daedric planes so there is HUGE potential for this games to keep going long term as long as they keep producing fresh, interesting and enjoyable content.
I've been a huge fan on Elder Scrolls since oblivion and I'm looking forward to seeing what they have in store.

Not necessarily. PS4's backwards compatibility is limited, as is PS3's.
Besides, it makes little sense to sell new consoles at a loss only to see players still playing their old games instead of buying new.

don't think it will just look at the ps4 and xbox one (yes i know xbox one has "backwards competability" but have you seen the games... just a few worth your time...) but they could fix it with decreased cost on their site for people with a account. but why doomsday thinking this is at least 6 years from now. we will see how the game is holding up then.

I could see character transfers through same ecosystem on PS Plus or XBLive as long as Sony and MS let it happen and if ZOS engineers have the resources to make it happen.

    Hhahaahahha, what?

Unlikely in my opinion. The way I see it, there are and will be too many competitors, and too often the people in charge of making decisions for the American developers of AAA games expect a larger amount of income in a shorter duration of time than an MMO these days with populations spread among so many different games.

Long term on console? I don't see it. Population has dwindled on Ps4 quite a bit already. May rebound but I'm thinking its best days may already be behind it.

ESO w ill have a very long life, though Nay-sayers will have their say. On both platforms, unless the console players quit.PC players will always be in for the long run.

It will last until there's a competitor on the market.

People looking for a single-player RPG will still love it though. That's the only group I see sticking around.

I'm a pretty die-hard TES fan, and was very much looking forward to a proper ES MMO. The problem is, they are moving further away from the MMO aspects I was expecting and making it more of a solo experience. Combined with the performance issues that have plagued PvP for well over a year, I'm just biding my time until a better MMO comes along.

    Um what?

Where are you getting your numbers to support this? Because everything has indicated the complete opposite of what youre claiming.

    http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/01/20/playstation-stores-top-downloads-of-2015/

ESO was 9th in most Downloads for PS4 in 2015. Considering the game released in June, a solid 5+ months after the new year. Thats saying something. And for it to hold up over the course of the Christmas season?

ESO Plus was 3rd on Most Popular Add-On for PS4 in 2015.

ESO was 17th on Most Downloaded for the month of December in 2015. Again, with all the games coming out for Christmas Season. For a game that was released in the summer thats not a bad place to rank in that time of year.

ESO Plus was 4th Most Popular Add-On for PS4 in December.

This is not including hard copy purchases for the game and crown purchases.

And my anecdotal observations in game has been the complete opposite. The game is still very much popular amongst Playstation Gamers. And this is coming from someone that has been a member of two dead Guilds on PS4.

They will continue to update the game if there is a large enough playerbase and they're making a reasonable profit. They won't just abandon a game if people are regularly playing it.
