Banished Cells Veteran Pledge. Awesome run.

I tanked the veteran pledge Banished Cells last night with an awesome pick up group. 3 of us were VR16 and there was a VR1 DPS. It went so smooth and nice as everyone was doing what they were supposed to be doing. Our healer was Godlike, I never worried for a second he wouldn't pull us through this thing. It made so much nicer to keep the daedroths alive and get the gold key. Maybe the banished cells is an easier raid I'm not sure?
I wish every pledge I did went like this. Too bad those guys were in different factions. I would do any dungeon with them.

Nice to hear some positive PUG stories ! LFG-grouping is in my own experience not nearly as bad as many people here seem to pretend. Either they were very unlucky, or they cannot adapt ! :-)

Banished Cells' gold key is not the easiest achievement, not the hardest either. I consider it middle range in terms of difficulty. If you had fun and felt great playing with those people, that's what matters anyway, not difficulty ;-)

My experiences with PUGs are brightest light and darkest shadow. It seems as if you encountered a bright light.

The unholy ESO RNG determines your fate:

Thanks for sharing. I love using the LFG tool and getting into PUGs, especially with my healer. It can certainly be more challenging, but I really enjoy teaching new players the events. Often it's their first time or they are still a bit under geared and it's fun helping them through. Nothing worse then having new players meet tools in game that ruin their experience.

Unfortunately you see so many childish arrogant people that forget they were there once as well. They think the are the Kings of Tamriel and nobody can match their leet skills ! That kind of mentality of a player in a video game cracks me up, as in laughing at them. These are the tools that leave groups because they must suck at the game and aren't good enough to help new/under-geared players out. They require a good party to get them through.

My experiences have been mediocre to down right terrible. The other night in the same dungeon we had a NB tank that just wouldn't stop draining the daedroths to death...and had some issues over spamming taunt till he lost agro. and unfortunately we had to opt to leave him dead on the ground for half the fight because he was actually preventing us from getting the gold pledge. We got it. but not because of the pug lol

On the bright side, we've also had some good substitutes. Nobody I'd take to WGT or ICP or VCOA, but good enough players to get through the general content.

My group can work with just about anyone. hell we can 3 man 90% of these, but we cannot work with a player who won't listen. won't say...hey I don't know this fight, or I need a refresher explanation, or can I get your TS or vent info?

But we have faith in the LFG. if anything getting horrible people increases our own game. makes the chaotic battles more like maelstrom and sometimes alot funner to be honest.

I think everyone has had some bad experiences, but this one was remarkably good! The healer was just freaking amazing. He could have probably pulled battle leveled noobs through the dungeon with ease.

I used to be a pugger, then I took a contacts list of awesome dungeon runners I collected to the knee

But seriously pugging is fun as hell as a healer...

LFG is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your guna get...also sometimes you get lvl 20's that are new to the game playing better than some VR16 players....

My first gold pledge outing with my dk tank was with a team of all VR16s and me as the only tank at VR1, but their dps was so good I hardly even got the chance to do any tanking. The second one I did was banished cells with a more normal group and it also went very smoothly (mainly due to a good healer)

Aye the PUGs I've been joining recently for the pledges have been surprisingly alright, although (I don't mean to sound big-headed) I was healing their asses through it, and we managed gold a few times, even with Vet 4s & 6. It's fun anyway!

One thing that soured the experience though - having blasted through the gold pledge we couldn't go on and do silver as the same group because we were cross-faction and it doesn't let you change the dungeon difficulty

Has anyone else noticed that on console, everyone in the group is a yellow Dominion? even my brother (who's on EP) shows up as a Dominion character in every random dungeon we join.

IDK? How do you tell what faction they are outside of asking them? I didn't notice anything saying where they are from?

Their alliance war ranks are yellow on our screens (when you hover your aim/cursor over the player) instead of their represented faction, like blue or red. I guess it's just a bug with "Show Alliance Rank" interface or something.

Got kicked running this pledge yesterday halfway through the final fight as a DPS apparently I was supposed to be tanking even though there was a tank in the group and he was getting beat up like a lusty argonian maid.

I've been in a successful group from group finder once xD

The dps hit quite hard, 1 proper tank (had skoria) and a nice healer.

Did Darkshade in about 30 mins without anyone dying once, which was weird as i normally quit after the dps go tank more and the healer turns to dps.

Actually, this problem occurs also on PC (EU). A couple of days ago I was doing the normal pledge in a random group formed via grouping tool. Everyone saw each other as 'yellows' despite the fact that everybody belonged to EP.
I'm curious if ZOS is aware of that issue and whether they are working on the solution? It's not annoying at all of course and does not affect the gameplay itself but apparently it's a bug.

From the looks of it the dps must've been light attacking boss and betting how long the tank'd last:D That's damn great job there though!

They just put everyone in the best alliance to simplify the dungeon grouping

I was in a Banish Cell group vet pledge last night through LFG tool and it was the best run I have ever seen on a pug group. Very smooth with no snags at all. No one really even had to speak and everyone knew what was going on.

Maybe we where in the same group?

If everyone knows the mechanics, everyone pays attention, someone has an off-heal to help out if needed while the healer is up in the air in a bubble, and the DPS is adequate, then vet Banished Cells is one of the easier vet dungeons IMO. I generally find it's not too difficult to do with a group of guildies if we're communicating via voice chat. With a PUG it can be hit or miss, naturally, but if you get some experienced folks who have done it before you can have a good run for sure.
