Just hit vet 15, Where did my hard earned loot go?

Just an observation. While all my leveling up through 1-50 and early vet levels it seemed I was constantly dumping my bags into the bank/selling etc. It always felt like I had a fantastic haul of goodies after a reasonable time.

Finally make it to vet 15 and start working Old Orsinium last night and today. Is this observational error or what's going on here lol. I'm only rarely getting loot now, pulling 1-2-3 packs at a time in the main rooms only to see 48 gold and 1 leather belt(Or none! with 10-15 mobs lol) Is it because it's a public dungeon? That I'm vet 15 now and seeing the new crafting material (lower drop rates to slow progression perhaps?) If that was the case I really think the low drop rate on vet 15+ kit could stay the same but they should have allowed lower tier kit to drop along with it to fill out the backpacks, it's not terribly exciting to add "A" piece of loot per 2-3 pack pull lol. Pre 50's grinding if you pulled 2-3 packs of mobs you'd see a long list of goodies :) Anyhow, just trying to understand what's going on here lol. The new tier of kit dropping for me or being a public dung etc. If one doesn't care about exp is there anyplace to really fill out a backpack quickly to feed the young crafters? Assuming i'm using my vet 15 guy.

PS: I had also read the exp was quite decent in here, Old Orsinium. Now I'm new here and was obviously not going "Hard Core!" but it seemed down right dreadful lol. I'd estimate a good 5+ hours of constant hunting in there for vet 16 or maybe 3-3.5 with a pot(Yes, I consider that pretty bad, IF I had chosen to grind early vet levels they can be done in 1-2 hours per...or better likely and of course the exp per is the same). I suppose I could try to ignore the urns lol. But still....is it actually decent if I find a circuit or is it not what I had thought/hoped it might be? Thanks all!

    Ps. king

    1 - 2 = one to two
    1/2 = half

I cant say i notice that i dont get much "goodies" but that's because i mostly attack creatures/monsters/dwemer and non human mobs that will drop non weapon/armor loot mostly.

I find the drop rate from Imperial city districts/sewers for weapons/armor better [because more Human NPCs i assume]. If i want to do a full sewer run i need to clear out a good 30-50 slots for maybe an hour, hour and a half.

for levelling crafting skills do the writs too. You often get an item with 280% boost to inspiration gains from deconstruction.

Orsinium mobs are too spread out for good grinding. Loot is also crap period. Nothing but lock picks. Need to do the dailies ( you can stack them with a group. You take one and share and another repeats it afterwards ) other than that no loot anywhere. Few red mats but that's it.

In the public dungeon, in the center east of the map, I guarantee you can get a vet rank in one hour.

I know this because I did it, a lot, to get my Templar to v16. You can even stay in werewolf form for the hour if you have all the abilities unlocked when you get used to the route.

You still can if you're very lucky and spend a bit of money.

Solo grinding CWC is about 1 VR per hour depending on class/skills etc. Add on top of that ESO+ (10%), two rings of Mara (20%), XP Pot (50%) and faction bonus (15%) plus the increased speed and you are looking at 2 VRs per hour.

Of course the stars need to align for you to get it but a VR every 40 minutes or so is pretty standard duo, 30 minutes is possible but exceptional.

Yeah, that's exactly what it is. Used to be you'd hit vet 14 and could immediately craft gold gear on the spot for your character. ZoS moved the cap to V16, and they made the new tier 10 materials rare, so that you had some measurable progress as you closed in on kitting out a character in the best possible gear.

Thanks all, yeah I figured it must be to slow progression. I'm fine with the lower drop rates on the higher tier stuff I just wish the mobs would also drop vet 14 stuff to fill out my pack and actually feel like I have some stuff to sell/break down haha.

I did indeed mean 1 to 2 hours there. I've never actually tried there yet. The one time I went there for my skyshard/completion there was an EP group grinding in the DC buff server :P Never went back, but definitely might check it out.

I'm done all the quests :P I'm not worried about the leveling part really. Just mentioned that it felt slow in there for exp. I'm after the loot man :)

I find it to be RNG on the loot drops. I have leveled 2 crafters from 32 to 50 in all 3 equipment skills just from Wrothgar loot drops. Sometimes I get a piece of kit on each mob, sometimes I don't. The Public Dungeons are good for that, in fact all the delves up there are good for that. However sometimes your going to log in and just not get much for drops. When that happens, I go to another zone for a while, then come back.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Wear it? A full suit eh? Gloves, boots, legs, chest, belt, shoulders and helm? Yep, I'd wear it. That is a sure sign of destiny to have 7 pieces of kit drop from one "The Thing" donkey

It's probably a good idea Nestor, I don't have a lot of experience "grinding" in public dungeons so I thought I'd ask if perhaps the loot drops less in those areas.

Delves drop good loot. Public dungeons tend to give more gold out because if they all gave a lot of loot, many players would hit the inventory cap 1/4 of the way through it.

That was always my understanding at least

Prolly ZOS nerfed item drops in wrothgar cuz they want to keep rubedite stuff rare. Otherwise people can farm mobs and get tons of armor/weapons for decon...

There's a spot that gives a vet rank in like 45 minutes, maybe less if the duo is super effective.
