You seem to be great with the lore and have played the past games a lot (like myself). It's be nice if you could go through that "Artifact" icon list I posted and see if you can name all of them. I'm thinking about putting a list together myself eventually.

The thing about the "artifact" icon list is... it's not all artifacts. I can identify about 50% to 60%. Some of them, "it's a sword?" But, as with some other entries on that list, just because it exists in the game data doesn't mean it's supposed to ever be player accessible. The devs haven't been shy about giving themselves some of these. There was an IC video where one of the devs had Sai Sahan's armor equipped, for example.
Hopesfire was created for the game, because Almalexia is in the game. There's only one Hopesfire, and she is carrying it. On the backend for the developers creating an icon for her weapon to ease equipping it and derping around with her inventory is about convenience. It's the same reason there's icons for unique characters and dragon priest masks. It's not that we'll be collecting those at some point in the future, it's that dragon priests are in the game, and so the developers need their masks.
Also, some of those aren't artifacts. The Worm Cult gear is on that line, which, I don't think anyone is arguing that the Worm Cult equipped each member with rare artifact armor. It's probably a file name decision.
All of this said, as I mentioned, the Daedric Artifacts were once obtainable. I'm not sure which ones. I used to even have the item code for Aurel's Bow around, so I could link it in chat and mess with people.
So, the part where hopesfire and trueflame were obtainable from fishing in Stonefalls? That was a bug. Honestly, a bug.
Because of the context, I suspect any daedric artifact we get our hands on in the future will be under roughly the same circumstances as the ones we've already obtained. Temporary during a quest, and not something we can take with us for later.
I know daedric artifacts existed in the beta but apparently they removed them from the actual game.
Was watching a few videos from someone from Mostly Harmless NA guild during beta when i was waiting for the game and he had volendrung. Upon closer inspection it was a set piece and im pretty sure it got renamed into the ebon sledge from 2h set from the first 6 vet dungeons
