Unable to dodge roll with controller

I just recently tried out the controller on the PC and I love it but I cant seem to dodge roll when I do LT+A or LB+A (I forget which one)
I would appreciate some help

It should be left trigger and A and maybe left stick in the direction. If not go to settings and bind it
