The root currently lets more than one person take advantage as you are frozen in place and entire groups can catch up to you when it should really only be the one person giving you a chance to burst them or flee instead of being locked in place while a football team slams you.

Only the stun makes it work as intended, take that away and Sorc's will be impossible to kill as they'll just Bolt Escape a couple of times to put some distance between them and a group then Bolt escape back through the gap closing pursuers, stunning them instead and then either killing them or just disappearing out of range of the gap closer. And no way 2 seconds of extra speed is going to allow a Templar or DK to keep up with a NB with all their class speed buffs which last a lot longer than that. You say most players would agree with you but I think there are really only a small number who complain about gap closers. You should just deal with the fact they're a legit part of the game. Templars and DK's live with the fact that starting a fight means you have to finish it for better or worse, don't cry because gap closers mean Sorc's and NB's have to finish fights too (especially since they still escape a lot of times).

Any idea that includes the removal of stun locking sounds good to me.MrGigglypants wrote: »So I think most players a are in agreement that the 1 second root from gap closers causes major mobility issues in pvp which I feel is not the intent. The intent of adding the root to gap closers is to ensure they do their job by allowing said player to then land his next ability should the player not dodge roll or use a defensive mechanic other than distance.
My solution is to remove the snare entirely and replace it with a movement speed buff for 2 seconds for the player using the gap closer ofc. This adds mobility and would make game play more fluid while not hampering affected players in an unintended way.
Thoughts?
The root destroys magicka based players as the cost of dodge roll is quite high already.MrGigglypants wrote: »So I think most players a are in agreement that the 1 second root from gap closers causes major mobility issues in pvp which I feel is not the intent.
