Should we just be CP leveling right now, or rather getting individual alts up to VR16? Meaning, will CP be account-wide like now, or will my VR16's have more CP than other my lower level characters? I am still a bit confused on this, and it definitely effects how I play until the VR removal happens.

Anyone have insight on this, preferably backed up by an ESO LIVE or something?

CP will be account wide. All your 50+ characters will be max level.

Well you'd be getting CP in the process of leveling to vet 16 and leveling up in the process of getting CP so it really doesn't matter  However, since vet ranks removal is coming soon™ and they may or may not "compensate" people in CP based on their highest level character I wouldn't just stop leveling because "vet is going away soon".

Okay, that's what I was wondering. I would rather just level CP with the character I want instead of trying to get my VR8 and VR9 up to VR16.

So would that mean the second they move over, all of your VR characters will need the same level gear since they all (at 50 or higher) have the same level of CP?

Honestly I think it's worth maxing out right now. Veteran Rank removal is at least four months down the road, possibly even five months and that's a long time compared to the required effort of maxing out which from VR8 or so can be done in one day if you grind it.

To answer your question, yes, once it's converted to CP they will all require the same level of gear..

Yes,level 50 chars will become exactly as your vr16. Its the normal way to go and what was intended. So people will be able to play with dif chars without having to do the same awful process until v16,etc. I guess all alliance zones will be completely accesible since the beginning too.
So yes, better to just level your alts until level 50.

TES is about freedom, maybe this will be the first time you will be able to have freedom in ESO.

You people sound like you're trying to get out of doing a chore... Level them, don't level them... Just play the freaking game already! But I suppose you mean whether you should spend a couple of days grinding mindlessly to VR16, which is something I've never done.

I've leveled 4 characters to VR16 and might level a new one. Why would I park a toon at VR1 and miss out on playing end-game content with my buddies who all play VR16 characters? VR removal is still months away, so might as well play any character you want. You still get CP and loot, so it's not like it's a waste of your time.

I would focus on Champion Points right now, not Veteran Ranks, and particularly not leveling Veteran alts. Leveling non-Vet alts is fine, up to Level 50.

The key thing to keep in mind is that, under the Champion System, all of your Level 50 characters are the same level. They have the same pool of Champion Points and will have the same Champion Rank and be able to wear the same Rank-based gear. It sounds from recent statements like they will all have the same Attribute and Skill points that would come from leveling Veteran Ranks.

This leads me to the conclusion that there is really no reason to intentionally advance lower Rank Veteran alts at this time, other than as convenient to obtain Champion Points. Champion Points will be the differentiating factor between any two Level 50 characters in the game. Focus on that over VR leveling.

Of course, there is no reason to stop playing Vet alts. I would just not make it a priority to level them for the purpose of getting levels in before Veteran Ranks are removed.

There are still unanswered questions about implementation, and they will be in no hurry to reveal answers to these. The second quarter is months away and there is a whole other DLC that needs to be revealed before then. I reserve the right to change this advice without notice or warning.
