Discussion on hybrid builds

I know most people dont take a hybrid build seriously. Since pve you can be a bit more flexible this applies mostly to pvp. This topic is to discuss if you could make a decent hybrid build what would be necessary. Such as sets, class benefits, skills. I personally believe a hybrid build is possible with great gear, undaunted passive would help alot too.. Magicka sorcs hit 19k frags in pvp so a 10k frag from a stam sorc could be scary. I think to make a good hybrid molag kena is a definite want for the extra 600 damage to weapons and spells. I also believe there is a set ( may be vet14 and not v16) that procs extra spell and weapon damage on a dodge roll. For a good hybrid i think youd need to run 40/20 to stam or magicka, and dual wield would be neccessary for either. I think some gold tri-stat glyphs with infused could give a nice boost. Just a few thoughts, if anyone has any info or pics of a hybrid build to get an idea of how your stats look geared it would be nice. Dont troll plz lol.

you can´t. with the current implementation of stat values going hybrid is like tying one of your arms on your back while shooting your knee when being blindfolded...
you can run that way but you are not efficent/competetive in any way sadly.

Sadly, the removal of softcaps has done a disservice to hybrid builds and build diversity in Cyrodiil, which was compounded by the recent damage reduction in Cyro - now you REALLY can't do sufficient damage at all with a tanky build if your max stats are divided between magicka and stamina (or magicka, stamina and health). Prismatic glyphs don't increase stats enough and they cost way too much. 45k to 65k per Hakeijo? Yeah, thanks... -.-

I wouldn't go hybrid unless it was a tank build and I expected to, basically, do no damage. But the thing is, it is EXTREMELY few people who would find that sort of a playstyle fun where you could never do any discernible damage to an enemy's health bar, even if they were clearly inexperienced.

If you want to do damage with a hybrid build, it's just subpar compared to pure (or nearly pure) magicka or stamina builds because damage scales from max magicka or max stamina. The sets you mentioned could be used to raise both dmg types, however... whenever Molag Kena activates, that cost is easily seen - it will drain your resources, which means you will need more regen... Which means investing less in damage... On top of that, you wouldn't benefit much from cost reduction glyphs because if you, say, used stamina skills 50% of the time and magicka skills 50% of the time, you'd only get the benefit from the glyph 50% of the time, whereas pure magicka or stamina builds would be getting the benefit 90% to 100% of the time (like sorcs using only magicka skills, except for the occasional Shuffle).

In order to boost resource management nicely, you would need either light armor or medium armor for both regen AND cost reduction. And once again, with the 5-item bonus passives on either armor type, that means that you cannot have BOTH damage bonus passives at the same time.

Current Cyrodiil is built around specialized builds that focus purely on one max stat and either spell dmg or wpn dmg, and either magicka or stamina costing skills.

When I lead groups I have 35k mana, 23k hp & 19k Stamina. I have robust willpower jewelry I switch to for leading. It makes you sooooo much more tanky to have that extra stam.

Please, in a fight you hold block and your stam will sell like hotcakes.
