Well may not be a idea for a new mount but new mount mechanic were you can give a ride to a ally on the back of your mount and maybe they do light and heavy attacks with there weapons. Kinda like the end game of LoZ:TP with Link and Zelda fighting Ganondof.

If we were to base mounts on the societies that use them and rely on them the most.

I think humans already have their mounts (Nords and Imperials) using horses. I also dont mind Altmer using horses. I can imagine humans inheriting the fondness for horses from their former Slave Masters. At least for these three races. I cant imagine there being much reason for any other mount that would serve them in the way that the horse does.

I feel like Guar kind of covers it for Argonians and Dunmer. The animal seems to serve multiple roles in the Morrowind and Black Marsh societies. Im not against other types of mounts but I wouldnt be too upset if they didnt introduce anything else related to these two deeply entwined races. With unspoken eons of time that these two have been involved with each other I can accept the cross over of influence. I can imagine the Chimer coming into the area using horses and enslaving the Argonians who had long settled on Guar as their mounts and beasts of burden. Chimer realizing the Guars ability to serve multiple rolls in its agriculture adopted it as a cheaper alternative to horses. At some point Guar came to replace horses in some circles. Maybe this was due to Guar being better adapted and suited for the environment. I suspect horses would still be common place in Morrowind though. Kind of hard to find a reason to get rid of a beast of burden as reliable as the horse.

Redguard. I heard, and I dont know how true it is, that Camel Mounts are coming. I dont play on PC so I wasnt able to verify this. But this would be an acceptable mount in my opinion. While Im sure horses have found their way into Redguard Society. I can see a Camel being a beast of burden more commonly found in Yokuda. And when the Redguards came to Tamriel they simply brought their most reliable beasts and tools with them. Its also possible that upon landing in Hammerfell they stumbled upon the Camels and found great use for them as Horses might not have been common place in the area.

Orsimer now have Bear Mounts. Theyre pretty fierce animals and very much embody the Orc people and serve as a kind of kindred spirit. Wouldnt be upset if this was where it ended. Although Echatere Mount would be pretty fearsome looking going into battle as well. Their tusks and crab like legs could do some serious damage.

The Khajiit have a pretty solid mount. The Senches. Some might not like the appearance of them. But I cant imagine a senche used as a mount being of a different appearance considering the demands of being a mount has.

Bosmer. These are the ones Im most curious to see if they ever get their own brand of mount. These people, much like the Orsimer and Dunmer have shrugged off High Elven life. They moved to Valenwood for a reason and while theyre probably the best sprinters in all of Tamriel. I cant imagine they wouldnt have their own calvary and one that would better suit them in the jungles and forests of their homeland. I've come to headcanon them adopting senches as mounts because of the proximity to Elswyr and the Bosmers propensity to steal things. The Bosmer and the Khajiit have a long storyed history of warring with each other and I can imagine the Bosmer adapting their methods of war between Bosmer Tribes (See: War Customs of the Tribal Bosmer - Grahtwood Lore for a better explaination of this) for their fighting with the Khajiit. The end result is the introduction of Senche mounts in Bosmer society. But Id still like to see if ZOS introduces something different and unique to them as well.
