No jewelrycrafting??! (and I'm not asking for full jewelrycraft!)

edited subject because people were only responding to the word "jewelrycraft"

You promised this forEVER ago!

I am tired of having to sell those great rings I find for nothing more than a few gold with not even a chance at regaining precious resources. Hell we can't even improve a ring or amulet!

Now I understand that adding in a full jewelrycraft line would be a large undertaking but how about at least a partial ability?

Allow us to:
- breakdown jewelry for resources (gold, runes, stones or gems). Gems would be used to upgrade jewelry.
- upgrade jewelry
- (we can interestingly already change jewelry attributes with runes)

Thats IT. Those 2 things new would probably keep most of us happy until we could actually craft jewelry from scratch.

Because it'd be WAY TOO OP!

For example: A crit-based Magicka Sorcerer for either PvE or PvP
    1. Main Hand: Kagrenac's (Staff)
    2. Off Hand: Kagrenac's (Staff)
    3. Main Hand Backup: Kagrenac's (DW Sword #1)
    4. Off Hand Backup: Kagrenac's (DW Sword #2)
    5. Head: Molag Kena
    6. Chest: Julianos
    7. Shoulders: Kagrenac's
    8. Waist: Julianos
    9. Hands: Julianos
    10. Legs: Julianos
    11. Feet: Julianos
    12. Neck: Kagrenac's

Still not as OP as the champion system. But ZOS still pretends that giving players control over what sets and what traits they choose is more OP than 25% more damage, 25% cost reduction, and 25% more shield strength (which you can get from CP regardless of your armor)

Even if I could wear three seducers sets I could still get more cost reduction out of the champion system.

Don't believe the false narrative that gear restrictions are about balance. They are about selling DLC and control. But jewelcrafting and spellcrafting are not released because ZOS has a bad track record of releasing new systems that aren't riddled with bugs, causing terrible imbalance that isn't fixed for months.

Also they have an issue with releasing new content on time.
"We want to do the version that we think is the best game and the coolest experience," Hines continued. "And that means putting a lot of people and a lot of content creators towards having stuff that comes our regularly; every four weeks, five weeks, six weeks. Big new stuff that you want to do."

I could live without jewelry crafting (despite how much I want it) but at LEAST let us upgrade them with blacksmithing material.

They could always make Jewelry have its own sets to avoid the op armour and weapon set potential. Just a thought.

I want is as much as the next player but it could cause problems be balancing players having 2 or 3 sets active at once and of course would cause ZOS to make crafting the next level of gear cost 20X more instead of it just being VR16 gear because crafted gear is ""so OP"".

Like Whitestrakes W/ Deaths Wind together could be a very powerful tank combo but players will no doubt go for laws of Julianos W/ seducer or hundings rage W/ night mothers kiss causing not only the power gap to be bigger but the gap between offense and defense making tanks even less in both PvE and PvP. Cause why bother with a tank when the team can wipe mobs and bosses in dungeons in 10 seconds and shield stack through it and I really don't need to explain why defense and tank roles in PvP would just die just look at PvP now only "tanks" you run into are perma hiding behind a shield and can't do anything except stall till there DPS group shows up and even then if they get wiped you're dead.

Um what are you talking about???? How about reading/responding to the post itself instead of being all reactionary to just the subject line?

I'm not talking about adding jewelry crafting, only the ability to break down jewelry into something useful and then improving EXISTING jewelry you find (so you can turn that blue ring purple, etc) THAT"S IT!

And upgrading say a ring from purple to gold would REQUIRE you to break down gold jewelry for a chance at a gem to upgrade a purple item (and you would need 8!) Not OP anywhere.

Running a little off topic as I thought you might know:

Mine's bugged or something and bastion only says 24% with 100 cp on my Templar :(

    You have heard of this?

You would think that if they are considering Spellcrafting (as stated in their recent State of the ESO address) they could manage the lesser complexity of jewelry crafting.

I stated it before... the issue with jewelry crafting is, there just isn't all too much to craft right now. I mean, they would have what, rings and amulets to research and craft... that's it. Even woodworking has six items to play with... so I can see why jeweller was not added as viable crafting line.

Of course, that only means they'd have to find some more things a jeweller could work on. Which would be easy enough... there could be jeweller-made clothing items like crowns, circlets and such, perhaps also bracers... stuff that does not give normal armor boni, but some other bonus, perhaps? I could see crowns to give "morale" benefits for a group leader... bracers maybe giving people a choice between normal light armor or additional jewelry enchantment options?

Then they could also add an alternative weapon for destruction and restoration magic, same effects, different visuals. I keep wishing for such a "Spell Focus" option, in the form of holy symbols, runestones, ornate spellbooks, gemmed skulls, mystic amulets, shamans rattles, meditation crystals, gilded scepters, sacret urns, etc. - would be right up a jewellers alley I think...

Take those two ideas, and we'd be up at eight things to craft. Making jewerly crafting quite viable as crafting skill line. They only would need to make it so... we can hope they might, someday!

For jewelry crafting, cite previous games where it was part of blacksmithing. Additionally, all of the gems needed are currently in the game as trait stones.

If they wanted/needed to have new materials, then would recommend silver, gold, and platinum ore veins.

Be careful about crafting item explosion. The crafting bag doesn't exist yet.

Also, just think about it this way. Crafting intricately shaped armor as well as chain mail rings when making armor and you can't make a circle for a ring?
Due to a typo in the system, the area was accosted by the Daedric Prince Moar Lag Brawls.

I think you're right to be outraged. Everything takes longer with ZoS. I have a suspecion that they have outsources most of their development work, and therefore they're quite rigid when it comes to implementing changes. This is probably how most free to play MMOs operate to cut costs on dev teams.

Correct me if I am wrong on this one:
They told us that they are for more in-depth character customization and character progress, right?
Adding craftable jewerly would allow it. Right now endgame PvE and some PvP builds are all around Agility/Willpower, Julianos, Hundings or Twiceborn Star. Where is so called "play as you want" thing, i didnt notice it yet.

I've already set aside willpower for Pve, running a better build now more dps and sustain. I guess I chose to play as I want instead of following meta.
