Strange thing I realized about group finder.

I keep trying to use it and this is my latest observation - when I join the que as a dd for silver pledge, I seem to never find a group. I can sit on it for almost an hour until my patience runs out. But when I invite another dd from zone chat and then start it, I get almost instantly tank + healer. This already happened several times. This leads me to conclusion something is still not working properly.

Anybody has experienced the same thing? Or any other ideas?

My friend and I run dailies every night, well every night this week since we hit 50. He is a tank and me a healer. Every time the que pops one dps one tank for us. It's not the end of the world but that is four straight days of us doing the daily scaled to vet 16 with two tanks one dps.

According to the post the other day, a whole new LFG tool is coming "soon"
I'm kind of a small deal!

We've tried several times to queue to pick up a friend in a different faction but in most cases it fails to group us together. It seems even though they added cross faction grouping it still, for the most part, only searches in faction to fill the group.

We've had a group of 2 AD dps and a AD tank queue to pick up a friend on his DC healer and sat for 30 minutes and not only did it not group us with each other, it didn't group the 3 of us with anyone and the healer was only put in a group once of randoms.

This may seem silly but I have to ask because I don't have this experience (on Xbox One)
-You cannot pre-group cross faction for it to work. The queue has to do it

Are you selecting the veteran drop down, prior to selecting the vet dungeon?

This actually maters if your waiting for a vet dungeon rather than normal dungeons.

I do, so I have no idea if it causes group finder failure if you don't.

Great...it won't fail but it wouldn't put you in a vet dungeon. It would be a normal dungeon at Vr16 NPCs

Maybe someone else has a response to help out

Yeah... it really doesn't work properly if you start as a single DPS. Unfortunately some people have worked this out and are now marking themselves as Tank or Healer when they're not. Better to form a partial group via /zone chat and then start the LFG search.

Agreed. What happened is that there were no Healers available on AD, and your DC friend got put in a partial group of DC players. The LFG then saw him as unavailable, because he was in a partial group - but wouldn't show him the group because it was incomplete. The LFG requires a minimum of Tank, Healer, DPS before it will show you the other group members.

Try this technique instead, "invented" by me and my Guildmates:

How to Force the LFG Tool to let you Group With Friends from Other Alliances
    1. Start with a group of three from one Alliance. Mark yourselves as Tank, DPS, DPS or Healer, DPS, DPS.
    2. Get your friend from the other Alliance to mark themselves as Healer or Tank to match the missing space in your group.
    3. Choose an "unpopular" dungeon from the list. Do not pick today's or yesterday's Pledge dungeons, or a dungeon in the same zone that you are in.
    4. Start searching with the group of 3. After 1 second, the single player should start searching.
    5. If you are not matched up within 15 seconds, quit the search and start again. Most likely the single player has been put with other players of their own Alliance in a partial group, since the LFG always starts with players of your own Alliance.
    6. If the LFG matches you with someone you don't know, be polite and explain that you're looking for your friend/Guildmate rather than just kicking them outright. From experience, 9/10 players don't mind once you explain.
    7. Now for the difficult bit. You must all go to the dungeon that you originally chose and kill at least the first room of enemies (we usually go up to the first boss). Otherwise the LFG Tool will constantly warp you all back in.
    8. Once you've done that, you can go to the dungeon that you actually wanted. It must match the original dungeon chosen in LFG in terms of Normal vs Veteran.
    9. To run the other Pledge, kick one of the people from the same Alliance, run the LFG for 1 second on the new dungeon required, then invite your friend back. Remember it is the dungeon level set on the LFG which determines whether it is Normal or Veteran, not the little shields on the Group tool itself.

It's a little ridiculous, but we have this down to a fine art now - to the point where we can even make groups with 3 Alliances in. (You start with the group of 3, add the 1, then one of the 3 leaves, allowing you to add another 1.) However, what we can't do is run DSA or Trials.

Want to know what happens if you try to run DSA with a cross-Alliance group as it is now? You can all see each other in the dungeon, and you can't attack each other - but you can't heal each other either, or use each other's synergies!
