It's going to be a cross between Wrothgar and the Dark Brotherhood from Skyrim...

A new area with a short quest line then interminable dailies... meet up with a man in a bar "Kill that fishwife, she turned me down", claim your payment... repeat. Maybe a couple of delves that you can spend months grinding for motifs that are sold in the crown store...

But "kill 5 members of alliance x"? Don't we have that already? Expanding PvP to the gold coast would be meaningless - just a larger area to do the same things.

Besides, I imagine the failure of IC and the success of Wrothgar means it will be a while before they try bringing PvE and PvP together again.

The Dark Brotherhood was in Morrowind before it was in Skyrim. The storyline in Morrowind was great.I wish they would use and flesh that out.Though not PvP.

    @Zenimax,

You promised us that ALL of Cyrodiil would be a PVP zone. With your update to the Gold Coast your planning on releasing, you are literally handing Half of Cyrodiil over to PVE'ers.

Your handing over the Gold Coast, Skingrad, Kvatch, Anvil, and the entire West Weald portion of Cyrodiil over to PVE players, this is a flatout betrayal. This is nearly half of the Cyrodiil province!!! In the same token, you announce your scraping your PVP justice system enforcer system. This is one of the richest areas in Cyrodiil its insane to think the 3 Alliance's wouldn't be fighting over this area. Your destroying your own lore if you don't make this zone a PVP zone

Look, i can live with the whole justice system thing, but us PVP folks have "1 zone" in the entire game that is ours (Cyrodiil) and it shouldn't be farmed out to PVE players, PVE players have got every other zone in this game, us PVP players have one...Cyrodiil, can we at least keep that consistent?

Looking at it from a canonic stand point. It would make more sense for the Morag Tong to have an interest in conducting activities during the Alliance War for some sense of greater good. The Dark Brotherhood however are more of a death cult that ultimately kill for the sake of killing.

Nobody panics when things go "according to plan." Even if the plan is horrifying! If, tomorrow, I tell the press that, like, a gang banger will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics, because it's all "part of the plan". But when I say that one little old mayor will die, well then everyone loses their minds! - The Joker: Darknight (2008)

That movie quote applies pretty well, imo. Killing random players in Cyrodiil is like the truckload of soldiers. It's part of the plan, and it doesn't really fit into the type of slayings the DB is known for. I really think the DLC is more likely to be about the earlier history of the Dark Brotherhood more than anything else.

Honestly I hope some update brings small scale PVP and duels. Maybe in the name of Boethiah or something, I just don't think it fits for DB.

BTW nice try with that outline. they said gold coast and include anvil and kvatch. (the gold coast is between anvil and kvatch and does not extend past the latter.)

you doubled their posted size and added skingrad and all of the imperial reserve as well, nice try.

You couldn't join DB in Morrowind, they were just the enemy faction that introduced the Tribunal expansion. Are you thinking of the Morag Tong?

I have to agree with this PoV, also I think fans of the TES series would like to do the DB quest chain without the risk of it being a PvP area (for the majority). Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have more pvp, but at the same time I don't think it should be in the same area as the DB quest chain.

As a PvE player it would make sense if the DB would be tied with PvP though. in the core it's killing someone else

No nice try about about it, that entire area is missing from Cyrodiil in ESO right now. Even if Skingrad, the West Weald and the Imperial Reserve are not part of the Gold Coast DLC, they are still missing from Cryodiil and should be part of the zone anyways.

Except they shouldn't, because of the whole "Colovia is not part of Cyrodiil in this time period" reason that I gave earlier ;)

the dark brotherhood don't kill for the sake of killing, they take contracts and perform an assassination at the request of somebody else. they are merely middle men for those that want to kill someone, and the victim. it is no surprise that in times of chaos and war people would want other people dead. they are bound by no borders and no laws other then there own, and anyone is free to perform the ritual and make a request. I have no doubt soldiers would want to kill enemy soldiers. the DB is probably booming right now.

the morag tong are the "legal executioners" between disputes that can be settled no other way and are limited to the chimer of morrowind. (and are currently outlawed in the ESO time period, though obviously that is not stopping them) are still bound by normal laws (they have to turn themselves in after an execution and present the writ) and are not allowed to perform criminal activities during their duties (secondary killings or theft) such actions would lead to suspicion and major internal investigations.

Preforming the Black Sacrament doesn't guarantee the contract will be taken though. It's just plea to the Night Mother.

I kinda wish ZOS would just give up and make a free-for-all open-world PvP server.

That way, all the hard-core PvP crazies can go there and smash each others' faces in all day, to their hearts' content.

And the rest of us, including the players who still enjoy PvP, but actually realize that it's not the only part of the game that matters, can stay on the regular server, and enjoy life without the people that want to turn everything into a PK death-fest.
