No. Just no......you put this in, it becomes play to win. The booster scrolls are already too much, I hate micro-transactions with a passion, but I tolerate cosmetic ones, anything other then that I want nothing to do with.

    Great idea.

You do this it would mean a lot more gold on the market then it could handle, prices would skyrocket into orbit which would mean the only way for anyone to be able to afford anything would they'd have to buy gold on the crown store. Therefore, pay to win.

Wait now OP have spend 500.000 gold and now he to lazy to farm money again so he is ask ZoS to sell money in crown store for he basically to lazy or have no will to be enterprising.

    My answer is NO!!!!

For sell money in crown store is in my eyes P2W + it will mess up the little so call economy we have in game serious OP think about all the trader guild the will basically set over price on everything which i think it is already on something be it will get even worst i can just see 200 Iron 50.000 gold if ZoS allow money sell in crown store.

*refrains from saying things that'd get me permabanned* :p

1 million gold is meaningless if everyone got 1 million gold each, because the price of items will inflate in response to an increased gold supply but finite quantity of stuff to buy. Basic supply and demand economics here...

If you want to be able to buy 1 million gold, but the (real money) cost is so high that the vast majority of people cannot afford it, then it means buying a significant advantage over other people since gold can be used to buy gear, potions etc... and that is certainly not a convenience issue. That is P2W plain and simple.

It's like saying putting Maelstorm weapons in the crown store is a convenience issue because it saves him the inconvenience of learning to beat vMA.

Ideally nothing in the crown store should affect performance. Zenimax already blurs the lines with potions and other consumables, but nothing major so far. Do not push them further in that direction that would result in the end of ESO.

True. People who want to buy gold in crown store just dont realize how economy works.
If anyone could buy gold with cash, all this extra gold would kill game's economy, and its not very healthy to begin with. Imagine that a crown store system generates millions of gold every day... There's no gold sinks in game and market gets flooded with all this extra gold. Prices for those columbines wont be the same, that's for sure, they will just grow more and more, forcing you to buy more and more gold.
And if gold become worthless, even basic stuff like potions and materials will be too expensive for those who didnt buy gold, because their "income" wont change. So they would have to pay or forget about being competitive. If that's not p2w then what is?
And like I said, economy in this game is broken because of low rewards and BoP items, but putting gold and mats in crown shop is not a solution.

ever since beta i have struggled to get ahead and have some decent gold in my account in eso.
when imperial city released i was able to turn a profit of about 500,000 gold but since then due to tri-pots and upgrades and food purchases on a daily basis just basic needs of surviving in cryodiil. it has now brought me back to an empty pocket and normal low income.
i would like to have atleast 1 million gold reserved for when the housing is released. i dont do well in trading guilds and i dont do any of the things suggested to get rich by others here on the forums because i want to pvp in cryodiil and not do anything else.

So, my request is quite simple:

please zenimax, please put a section in the crown shop where i can purchase Gold for ingaame in eso, so i can do well and survive the daily needs of living in elderscrolls online.

thank you for taking the time to read this.
    enjoy your day.

And make the game Pay to Win? No thanks...

Besides.. 500,000? How do you manage to blow that amount of money? I think I only have 26K on me and I feel rich as hell in game, even though I know It's not even a lot.

I get where you are coming from, but this is classic pay to win. It is going to get a lot of push back on these forums. My advice would be to figure out what you are good at and devote a little time each week to making gold.

The simplest ways to make gold are to farm mats in wrothgar and steal stuff to fence. I also suggest doing writs.

Can you elaborate more on this mat farming? What mats should I be looking for? where in Wrothgar and how much roughly do they sell for?

I'm only level 10 or something as I had to roll a totally new character after not playing for 6 months.

Yes, please, make it possible to convert real money into in-game currency quickly via direct purchase or via selling pack-items or other vanity-stuff previously purchased in Crown Store. Sometimes adults just need to indulge themselves in some comforts.

then you can't farm the mats in wrothgar. the mats you find are tied to your skill in woodworking/blacksmithing and clothing. at level 50 of the skill with the lvl 10 of the passive you can find ruderite items. but you are to low for that

o.O God no. ZOS has made their best so far to make sure Crown Store has NOTHING to do with ingame gold, gotta give them that much - everything you buy there is bound to account, etc. And it should stay that way.

This. PvE has become easy since launch. Now you have the " I want PvP only " players whining that they want access to everything without having to leave PvP and they are pretty close to getting it. It's dumb.

Exactly. I would leave the game that day. If this guy cannot leave PvP to earn gold or collect good PvE gear that should be his problem.

ZoS needs to have a currency that " PvP only" characters can acquire and make things tradeable between PvP and PvE community. An MMO HAS TO HAVE A HEALTHY ECONOMY. More BoE less BoP!!!!

Although I disagree with the Premise overall as it could be considered P2W, GW 2 does official Gems (Crowns) for in game Gold and I think that works without being P2W.

However the main reason it works in GW 2 I think is because it can be done both ways round. People buying Gems (Crowns) with Gold and Buying Gold with Gems. I believe the Price alters depending on sales, so there is a set amount of Gold in the Gems for Gold exchange with the price going up and down depending on who is buying Gold with Gems and who is buying Gems with Gold.

If any of that makes sense.

It would also cut down on those annoying Gold Sellers you sometimes see in Chat and get Mail from. Still not convinced it would work out though.

As I understand it, the big difference between Guild Wars 2 and ESO's economy is, GW2 has a ton of gold sinks to soak up any excess gold that gets into the economy. ESOs internal sinks are all very minor. It's part of where the current inflation issues are coming from.

This I could be persuaded to get onboard with. Zenimax should never create gold from nothing and simply sell for crowns. However, if players can buy crowns with gold, then that gold could potentially be sold to other players for crowns (at a constantly variable cost depending on supply and demand) without upsetting the balance of the economy.

That said, this will never happen because it will damage Zenimax's income stream as rich players can sell essentially sell gold legally to rich (in real life) people. For a start, I'd never buy crowns again if I could sell gold for it. :D

I can now see how this is pay to win. So i will settle for potions or scrolls that give me 70% more gold from all sources. Pick up 100 gold, poof it is 170 gold. Sell something for 100k at the guild vendor. poof it is 170k.

No different then the 70% exp boost paying people can get. Since obviously that isnt pay to win. It is just convience.

There's a huge difference between someone getting to VR16 faster than you, and someone taking control of the entire market. Me getting to VR16 doesn't affect YOUR game. you level at your own pace. However, any monetary gain effects the marketplace, guild vendor prices, etc. So now the equipment YOU need is two or three times more expensive since theres SOOOO much gold out there. Also as a side note, a potion that gifted you an additional 70% is MEGA exploitable. I sell item in guild trader to a friend, for 100k, make 170k, he sells it for 170K, I buy it, he (with the potion) makes what? 289k? (I'm bad at math) and on it goes....

While I was joking about the 70%, I was mostly just using it to prove a point. So you are saying that paying for something that makes my actual character stronger faster isn't pay to win. Yet paying for something else that might be used to make my character stronger faster is definitely pay to win? You have to see why it is amusing right?

And in any game with pvp, your argument about how it doesn't affect other people is wrong.

Since you can purchase anything in game with gold, making gold purchasable with real money would make any control by ZOS of what's purchasable with real money (convenience) and what's isn't (pay-to-win).

On a side but related note :

Why did ZOS make AP a currency ? It could just as well be only a ranking unit, and PvPers could be rewarded with more gold, and the (valid) issue brought by OP (which seems to be common among pure PvPers) would not exist.

This is a genuine question, not a statement or an opinion presented as a question.

Do some research. 9 trait sets sell for 5k a pop to craft them for people. You list an item in a guild store and people then message you for the sets to be made. Or learn nirnhoned and flog staves for 25k a pop. Or just farm in general. I have millions now.
