Gold in the crown store is the epitome of P2W. If that happens, half (I'm guessing, at least) of the current community will leave. Then again, it would just be P2W casuals at that point, which is kind of the direction we're heading (or already there?).

Well, if you just needed tripots, why didnt you buy them from crown store? They're already here.
And yeah, Im against p2w stuff, but the game's economy was completely ruined by laughable rewards and BoP. It has to be fixed asap.

I'm on 22k total, thanks to my campaign ending today and giving me about 25k gold since I blew it all on repairs in vMSA, but saying that... gold in the crown store would kinda ruin the game. lol

I lost a lot of interest in WoW after they brought out the tokens which meant that players could basically pay £15 for 60k gold.

This would be a disaster, imo. It's already borderline stupid, that you can bypass the in-game methods of upgrading various things via the crown store. If they start adding gold purchases, you may as well just go ahead and add "pay crowns to level up XYZ skill lines", etc.

MMORPG,

One of the 'real' things this has over it's current competition - I mean in objective, general mmo terms - (other than TES lore, fans of it etc) is: it's an mmorpg, that actually feels like an rpg. Start removing that with P2W stuff, and it's doomed.

They should stick to vanity-oriented items. Obviously these are my own opinions.

edit: also, I'm not the kind of person who ever really has 'lots' of gold in games, because I'm generally too lazy to farm it etc. But, I feel like this kind of stuff totally diminishes the value of anything that's connected to it.

The same could be said about literally anything else that's P2W. Levels?, Skill lines?, purchase AP, or CP?

But, but .. what if people don't want to spend time doing these things?. Just plop them on the cash store?. It's just "convenience" lol.

I do support this. It's becoming so expensive to make new gears and improve them to gold. No, I do not go to PTS so often. I have 6 alts and its time consuming to swap armors and weapons to another when I want to pvp or run more challenging dungeons. It's the heavy armors gold mats that are difficult to extract from refining. With 6 toons putting full points in crafting, spent hours farming raw mats for refining doesn't yield an encouraging amount of the gold mats. With heavy repairs in VDSA or tons of time spent in pvp, a lot of gold is needed to buy food and pots. It works both ways, ZOS gets our money, players who love crafting gets our gold. We, can continue playing (who has regular job and family) can enjoy the game at a better pace with less stress without worrying where to find as much gold and not stressed of being booted from trading guild when we can't make much sales per week.

The market going to pot was the fault of ZOS. So many drops BoP now it's ridiculous. PvPers don't have an income now either with AP bag sets outdated and whatever sets that were upgraded to V16 no-one used (except Archmage).

The bags are getting updated to V16 next patch but what about all these BoP sets ZOS insists on adding?

This. I don't fancy paying millions of gold for a few tempering alloys. But that will happen when gold gets less vaulable.

Of course they should add gold! And maelstrom weapons. And all armor sets in the game. Also they should sell weapons that one shot everyone including dungeon and trial bosses. Oh hell just put a button in the crown store that, when pressed, just yells "you win!"
