While yes the average ms in this game is higher than normal for an MMO, also the latency stability is very poor in Cyrodiil.

But, you're typically not ever going to get as low as a speedtest latency ping in an MMO.

When you speedtest your ping ms, all that it's doing is simply pinging the target server, and reporting back the latency from you -> server -> you (and whatever other connections it has to use to reach it). It's usually used as a reference of best-base scenario.

There's quite a lot more going on between you -> server -> you in an MMO. Constant checks, and negotiations whenever you interact with anything that's serverside, etc, etc.

@Asmodean, Yeah I know there is a lot happening so my ping can't be as low as 30ms.

That's why I am fine with a ping of 100, although I cannot understand how people get 70ms in ESO when they are from a different country. Maybe this one's on me and it might be time to change my internet provider.

However, another 100ms on top of that after the patch is not ok. This is not in Cyrodiil either, this is anywhere in Tamriel, busy place or alone in the deserts of Alik'r.

Same here. I have a 100 Mbit/s fibre connection and I live 50 km from Frankfurt.

My latency usually is around 50 - 70 ms. I noticed the ping values start to skyrocket in PvP (Azura), but recently in PvE instances too (pledges, raids). I have seen everything between 50 ms and 500+ so far.
