Making Gold -Without- Using a Guild Trader?

If one has done all the quests, 5 crafting writs per day, loots PvP 'rewards' (200g each one) how else can one make gold without selling any items to another player? because depending on guild traders is tedious, and we don't have text chat on console yet to attempt to sell random items, unless one uses a trading community on PS4 but that's not the point.

Isn't there any method of making gold from ummm... killing things? because that seems pretty low and slow :P I'm thinking of resorting to quests on my low level just to make gold for my main so that I can actually progress in vMSA.

It's possible to make money without guild traders, it's just inefficient. What the NPC might purchase you from 5 gold you may be able to sell it for 100 gold in a guild store.

Gontrand de Bourbon (the greedy aristocrat) - LV50 Breton magsorc tank (DC)

If you have a buddy or two, farming Imperial City Sewers is a great way to make huge amounts of gold. All the trophies are pretty profitable and rubedite/rubedite/silk are still selling well even just posting WTS in zone chat. Also, Hakeijo runes go for about 50k each and Report for 3k each, and I get them both pretty frequently down there.

Undercutting zone on a few occasions work for me. Trading hubs like Rawl'kha tend to price everything at a premium rate so finding customers can be easy if your selling highly demanded items like raw mats.
Of course, selling anything in zone is often better than what a NPC merchant will give.

But if you don't want to do even that? Just kill things (like in dungeons) and sell the junk they drop. The gains are decent enough.

Hmmm I see, well.. I guess we have to rely on guild traders/selling to other players, when it comes down to it.

It's a shame that there's no solo way of making decent amounts of gold, but obviously not too much, just in a fair way because I'm running low on all the repairing I'm doing in vMSA

Provisioning can make you 10k per hour. Hitting the square button. A lot.

Remember to search and pick up everything.

True that, but I've already got some epic food in my guild trader which hasn't sold yet ;)

If you've got all sp in gourmand and connoisseur it can be worth your while to make VR10+ (green) food/drinks. They sell for 5 gold a piece to NPCs, but with the passives you make 4 at a time. Basically turning two provisioning ingredients into 20 gold. I do it to get rid of excess ingredients, and last time I did it I got 5k for pressing square for 5 minutes or so. It adds up pretty fast.

Provisioning is worth maxing out for this reason alone. It gets really profitable after you start making 4x or 3x a food/drink item from every ingredient.

Depending upon the number of alts you have, you can make a bit of money by having your alts run provisioning quests. Have 1 character that is the provisioning expert. Level them up all the way. Buy as many recipes as you can from every trade guild vendor you see. I will usually buy 4-5 just to make sure I'm not buying duplicates. Buying at the rate of 10-15 per day, I now have almost every green recipe in the game.

Now, if you don't level up your other characters in provisioning (just run the low to mid-level quests), you're expert should be able to provide the materials for the quest easily. And the bonus you get is for doing the quests is even more recipes, including blue and sometimes purple ones.

On Saturday, I made 11k in provisioning in about 45 minutes (I was level 36 at the time).

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

The heroes during times of war, are nothing but mass murderers during times of peace.

be picky about what you sell and you can make a bunch more. only sell the green/blue/purple items since you have only a limited amount of fences to sell too

True, and I do that sometimes, but picky= more time.

Just post things and if they sell, they sell.

The main problem with trading guilds is that most get crap prices for items. But those crap prices are still way more than what NPC merchants will give.

Good info. That can be a better return than selling ingredients as some most sell for less than 10 gold a piece.

Using craftstore add-on, I can create a ton with one click. I'll do that later tonight. I've sold a ton of prov mats the last 2 weeks. I wish I had them back now.

Good method to crank out the last few provisioning levels too on alts assuming I have the extra skill points for the 4x passive.

I used to farm nirncruxs to sell them off. Forts for 8k pots for 15k. Turns out I've been doing it wrong. A lightening and flame staff nirnhoned will sell for 25k easy and I've got 3 heavy armors and 4 lights. I make them up and sell them for 15k a pop. Easy money to be made plus you get all the gold and purple tempers. Grain solvents and temp alloys are still in huge demand. 14k for a temp alloy now.
