Really guys. Like hurry up and get you some bag space!

I wasnt a fan of the idea of these advertisements in game when you log in but I kept pretty quiet about it. It was made out to be something the playerbase had demanded because they kept missing opportunities to get things like Senche Leopard Mounts. And because I could see the logic behind that I kept my trap shut. But in the last month we've been hit with at least three of these things upon logging in. Maybe I was mistaken when I was under the impression that this wouldnt be a regular thing. That it update us about some more exotic important updates to the Crown Store. But today I log in to find a Featured Products Advertisement for.......50% off Bag Space Upgrades. And nothing else.

Maybe Im just being grumpy this morning. But I could of easily went with some sort of 'Check the Crown Store for New Items' Text in the upper right corner upon log in like you get when ever you try to mount your horse and fail. Rather than this big Featured Products nonsense that will flash on your screen for the most obnoxious of deals.

I get it, but this isn't some small time free to play game, it's payed game & dlc, and/or sub options, etc. There's really no need to be spamming players with cash shop windows, it's a bit obnoxious.

I don't mind the deals they put up, I just wish the NPCS would offer deals every now and then

I think they're referring to the in-game window that pops up whenever the crown store is updated.

Thats correct. As Im the OP. The point of my post wasnt about having to click it to make it go away. But that we're no longer being given a heads up about things that people were originally complaining they were missing. But now random and completely unnecessary updates about deals like bag space.

I don't have a problem with them doing the ads. I like knowing what's up with the store We get crowns every month. They want us to spend them. Needless to say, I did not get the bag space.

Look in all seriousness, I understand they went this route to ensure people would be aware of any sales or new items that were added to the cash shop and I understand that most people seem to be fine with it. It is a small annoyance but I would really, really appreciate it if there was an option on my account profile to opt out of receiving these ads.

I don't care. I'm just not buying anything from their Crown Store, whether or not they flash those ads in my face. Well with exception of actual content of course.

I can understand the annoyance though, wouldn't mind the "notificatons off" option myself but guess it's just not happening because, you know, Crown Store. Must sell moar mounts and all.

The silly thing is even I just see it as an annoying pop-up to get out the way, and I actually do want to know whenever there's new things in the crown store.

99% of the time when I first log in I have other things on my mind, so I just close it down without looking or even really thinking about it, it's just a thing that's in my way. Then, later on when it's convenient for me I'll open the crown store and look through the categories I'm interested in to see if there's anything new.

They need a setting to suppress the advertisements.

It is very unlikely they will even have anything that will interest me as I use 100% of my crowns on DLC. I will likely never buy a single vanity item or consumable in the crown store. There is a 0% chance I would spend real money to buy bag space for a single character when the max space doesn't go any higher than what you can get using game gold. It is just annoying to see the ads. If the contents of the store wasn't all trash, it wouldn't be as irritating. But mounts and costumes are silly nonsense. My 6500 remaining crowns will sit there until used up by DLC purchases.

Am I judging people who buy such things? Not at all. I used such strong language to convey how I feel about the items personally. They are great items for those who get joy from them. Those people can opt-in to the ads so they don't miss awesome new limited edition mounts or sales packages.

Forcing advertising on people who are already your paying customers is not a good idea if you are advertising things they have no interest in.

This is a forum for a product. You do understand this right? That to call a complaint by a customer/consumer a first world problem here is idiotic. No ones complaining about this while denying that children in africa are starving or that children in the middle east are being bombed in their sleep. Lets not even get into the fact that you dont even know what first world really means. Youre just regurgitating something on the internet. Now if youre done trying to derail the thread.

Im not complaining about the advertisement itself. Its quite obvious that its not going anywhere. The complaint is the fact that its gone from a 'We'll use this to give you updates of big things going on in the Crown Store' to every little sale or change in the store, youll be notified. The difference becomes 1 or 2 updates here and there to possibly 30 times in the month.

Now of course 30 times a month is an extreme. But the point is that as a business, theyre dipping their toes in the water trying to see how often they can get away with advertising to us.

Do you have constructive feedback on how ZOS should provide information to the player-base that crown store products are available, such that more players would be likely to purchase them? Personally, I understand the need for the game/company to have an income stream, and understand that there are things in the crown store, new or for limited time, that players may be interested in (regardless if I am, or not), and finally, that with a click I can remove the window at log-in, and never be bothered for the rest of my session. What should they do instead?

I read it the first time, and I fail to see how a passing generic "check the crown store for new items" is useful at all - it is the same rote message that will be ignored every time. If the message isn't different, it isn't at all meaningful.

I kind of agree, and I kind of disagree. Here's why.

Really, I'm not a fan of the ads. Why? Because I follow ESO on twitter, I watch every ESO Live, and I'm on the forums constantly. So, I know about everything they add/take away etc. before I even actually log in to the game every night.

BUT, I am a fan of the ad because I have read entirely too many "this is unfair I missed the limited time X" (which by the way.. still happen.. but in FAR few quantities)

I agree that now it seems to be (much) more often, as well, maybe I'm wrong and just crazy.. but the ad appears when they ADD an item (or put something on sale, whatever) and then it appears when they REMOVE the item. I get it, the ad is set to appear whenever the crown store "changes" but I don't think it should appear when they remove a limited time X or sale.

And the disagree part.... I honestly believe that there would be far more people than you or I could imagine.. that would miss that small text in the corner.. and then they would complain about missing out on X. (I assume you mean like the text telling you X armor was repaired)

Post 2 (sorry). Alright and to this particular point... (and I may be a bit too honest here) but for something like a 50% sale on bag space... who cares if they don't give heads up? If you fail to log in for 5 days (or is it 4?) then I'm sure you'll be fine without said sale. I can understand if it was a limited time mount (because yes, people go on vacations or just generally get busy) but just a small sale on one item? I don't feel it needs a heads up.

And the pop-up ad, in my opinion, is actually doing it's intended job when there is no heads up.

They could tone down the how many times they change the crown store though.
