I am trying to find leveling builds on the net, but most of them are outdated (Deltia, Tamriel Foundry, etc). I am going to level some alts and would like to get some updated builds/ideas for leveling :) I know that you cannot go wrong in leveling and you can make it with any build, but I like to be efficient and able to solo efficient..

I already have a templar as main, so I am interested more in Sorcerer, Nightblade and DragonKnight... I would prefer the sorcerer as light armor - magicka based and nightblade as Stamina build with Bow/2H/DW focus, but of course all builds are welcome.

Also if you have any links of site with updated guides/builds, please share. I used to read builds from Deltia and Tamriel Foundry, but those have not updated for months, or have only pvp builds updated (I am not interested in pvp yet).

Also please, give as more details as possible, (eg important passives, spell synergy, etc).

Thanks in Advance.

For any Class I do the following

1 Skill from Each Class Skill line on my bar
1 Weapon Skill on my bar
1 Skill I want to have and need to level

Wear a mix of Light Medium and Heavy Armors. Run the Training Trait on all armors and weapons until they are at 50.

Builds only become important at VR Ranks

Thanks Nestor, I am trying to do the same...although Some builds are better for solo and more efficient at completing Public Dungeons and Bosses.

For Example, on my Templar I have

    Restoration Staff | 5 Heavy 1 Medium 1 Light (Seducer / Magnus)
Puncturing Sweep (Aedric Spear skill Line)
    Repentance (Restoring Light Skill line)
Siphon Spirit (Restoration Staff skill line)
    Immovable (Heavy Armor skill line)
    Inner Light (Mage Guild)
[Ult] Nova (Dawn's Wrath Skill Line)

So I have 1 skill of each class skill line and 1 from my weapon, but I have chosen the ones that I think are best for a solo leveling build. With Immovable buff and Siphon Spirit + Puncturing Sweep I can solo everything...

So, I am mostly looking for other class builds, that will use this rule you said (one skill of each line), but the class skills choice plus the rest 2 slots will be "best" for efficient soloing and leveling :)

EDIT: So to change my question: If you had to chose 1 skill of each class skill line for leveling, which skill/Morph it would be? What would you put on the rest 3 skills for leveling? :)

I see the Leveling from 1 to 50 as creating a character that is versatile and can support any build with just a respec when I get to VR Ranks. The Mobs and Bosses during leveling are mostly just tactic choices and staying out of red. Its not so much being efficient and killing mobs during that time, but being efficient at changing builds later on, and by that I mean, not having to grind up a skill.

If you want to be efficient when it matters most you need to hit VR with all your armors at 50, your class skills at 50 and your main weapon choices at 50 and your skills at least at the point where you can morph them, if not morphed already. I would even go so far as to have weapons you may not think about using also at 50, or at least 38 (to unlock the last active in the weapon lines)

Also, I have seen skills change dramatically since launch. Some that were just weak and useless have become strong and powerful, and the ones that were an easy button have gotten nerfed. So, it's also important to get each skill leveled, even if don't actively use it. Again, up to the point you can Morph it is enough for developing the off skills. You can never predict when the Devs will change things to make a skill usefull or useless for your playstyle.

So, this means while leveling you will have skills on your bar that are not the most efficient at killing mobs and bosses.

Ok I see, so lets talk about VR leveling then..you got all your skill lines to 50 and leveled all skills to be morph-able and you are now VRx level. You can use any skill and any passive, whats your leveling build for remaining veteran levels or your build when you solo grind for materials, drops, champion points, etc.

Orrrrrrrr.... you could do quests and right before you turn in said quest you put the skills/tree you want levelled on your bar. Turn it in, then switch back to your efficient moves.

You don't have to use the skills in order to level them. Just fyi

I am just trying to have you avoid being like this guy when you get to VR Ranks

    forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/240782/how-badly-have-i-messed-up-my-character

As for the Builds, I mix things up really to keep me from getting bored. I also tend to functionalize my Skill Bars. As I play all 4 classes, it is easy for me to get confused when I load up one character or the other. So, like this:

    Sorcerer, main bar

    1. Inner Light
    2. Power Surge
    3. Impulse
    4. Crushing Shock
    5. Hardened Ward/Boundless Storm/Magic Harness
    6. Meteor

    Back Bar
    1. Inner Light
    2. Daderic Mines/Power Surge
    3. Liquid Lightening
    4. Crystal Fragments
    5. Hardened Ward/Boundless Storm/Magic Harness
    6. Meteor

    So, breaking this down:

    1. Buff Toggle/Skill (Inner Light/Evil Hunter/Structured Entropy etc)
    2. Buff Skill (this skill boosts the next series of attacks although I can put another damage skill here)
    3. Spam AoE
    4. Spam DPS
    5. Shield/Recovery
    6. Ultimate

I tried a set up where I had all my shields on my back bar and all my damage on my main bar, but I am still trying to figure that out.

Then on my NB, I have a Melee Bar and a Ranged Bar but they follow the same basic structure

    1. Momentum (Rally?)
    2. Critical Rush
    3. Cleave
    4. Wrecking Blow
    5. Blur
    6. Veil of Blades

    1. Reapers Mark
    2. Snipe
    3. Arrow Spray
    4. Poison Arrow
    5. Swallow Soul
    6. Meteor

So, follows the roughly the same idea as my Sorcerer, buff myself, prepare for my attack, attack, attack, recovery or protect. This makes me efficient as I use the same rotations no matter what class I am playing, what weapon I am using, or whether I am ranged, melee, Single Target DPS or AoE.

Nice thing about this approach is I don't have to use any one skill, I can use them all as I see fit. Just select them by their function.

Nice, thanks :) Yes, my focus is to level the skill lines and the abilities, but I just want to have a "plan" on my mind, what I am trying to do, whats my "final" build / gameplay.

Me: slot the skills I want leveled up. If class skill ranks aren't at 50, ensure that they have a skill slotted to get there. For me, leveling is all about leveling up my skills too.
