I had hoped this ability would self heal. Is this a bug? Or working as intended?

Here is a clip, where I let enemies damage me so I could show myself using sap essence and getting no heal. At the end, I had to ulti to heal.

Yep, I can see your health go up SLIGHTLY, so it's working. Like the others above have said, it scales off of magicka and it looks like you are a sta build.

There is a magicka morph which is the one that self heals.

I just got this on my Magicka Nightblade and I think it does self heal as well.

If you have FTC the heal will show up as Sap Will.

Bear with me two minutes, I have videos showing the magica morph Sao essence does not self heal.

I'm just waiting for the clip to appear.

I'm on Xbox one EU server, and for me it 100% does not self heal.

Are you sure you morphed it correctly or at all? Sap Essence heals you, no question about it.

Edit- just watched the vid. I think the issue could be that you are using a stamina build, so the healing coming from sap essence is so low that you can't see it on your small health bar. I'm assuming you have very low magicka and spell power in a stamina build.

This is where they really need to step it up consoles, you guys have a way way more difficult time testing stuff like this.

Yeah, sap essence heal (and damage) scales off spell damage and max magicka, so its pretty weak on stamina build.
For this kind of build you'll need rally (2handed skill line, morph of momentum) or vigor (alliance war ability), as they scale off weapon damage and max stamina.

I'm certain. If you look at the video I posted, you can see that I use sap essence correctly magick focuses morphed to heal. At the end of the video I go to my skills bar an highlight it.

I notice no HP increase.. And I assumed that the heal of 700(or so) plus 20% per target would be actually noticeable.. That's such a shame. I got excited about an AoE nightblade with some sustain.

You can actually see that it heals in the clip. It's VERY little tho (which is working as intended)

You guys who aren't getting self heals from sap should double-check your morph. If you took the sap essence morph, it has always and currently does heal. The power extraction morph does not provide the heal benefit.

If you are a stamina-based build, there is no reason for you to use sap essence. You are better off with power extraction, or as many others would suggest, not using this skill at all. A magicka nb done properly can do nothing but spam sap in very large encounters and self-heal enough to stay alive, even solo.

If you are a magicka nb and your sap essence is healing for very little, then there is something about your build that needs an adjustment. It's most likely a lack of spell power, or too small of a magicka pool.

Yeah, that's probably about 5% of your health. Maybe less.

Judging by how fast you ran out of magic & and the use of steel tornado don't use sap as a heal. Your obviously not a magic build. Also it's a 50% nerf on heals down in the sewers. Try a Resto staff with healing ward.

The stamina version of Sap is the only one that doesn't heal think it's called power extraction
