How are skills leveled or points allocated to them. Also best way to level Assault skill line
Hi been playing for 7 months (pve and Caldwells silver / gold, wrothgar etc) without thinking much about it, now its time to take it seriously (moving on to Cyrodiil). Now i need to understand better how skills level up. have always noticed if a skill is slotted and even if its not used it still levels up, also some skills level up faster than others even thou used much less.
More specifically i wish to level the assault skill line, whats the best way to do this? does singly exploration i.e obtaining skyshards, finding / beating delves and dark anchors etc count, or doing the quests in cropsford etc count.
or is it all to do with joining a group and assaulting / defending keeps, farms, mills only.

Not unless you kill players (mobs don't count). You'll earn more AP in Cyrodiil though.5 -
aLi3nZ✭✭✭✭Ic does count towards ap but only if you go around ganking and doing pvp. I would say it's faster to just join up a big group in cyrodill and take and defend keeps and resources ect5

MrTarkanian48✭✭✭✭It takes gaining alliance points to level Assault and Support Skill lines, and it takes ALOT of AP. It is probably the hardest skill line to level IMO, so prepare yourself for a long ride.
Arguably the fastest way to gain AP is gank players in high volume traffic spots, since you have will get the most AP per kill if you do it alone or in 2 or 3 man groups. However, it is easy to get killed on your own as well.
If you aren't a very strong solo player get in a group and follow them around killing players, taking and defending keeps, and repairing keep walls/doors. You will spend a decent amount of AP or gold on repair kits, but I highly recommend you do this as it is a fairly easy way to level the skill line.Wood Elf Stam NB (PVP)

MrTarkanian48✭✭✭✭I'd avoid IC if leveling the skill line is your main goal. There are not many objectives in IC that award AP, and you will most likely find yourself killing alot of mobs which also do not award AP. Cyrodiil is probably your best bet.Wood Elf Stam NB (PVP)

Join them as much as possible and run with them seiging keeps, taking resources and most importantly killing zergs.....
You can earn alot of AP as a solo player too but it takes skill and dedication, much easier in a group....
So put away your PVE saddle and dust off your PVP saddle...... AP = Leveling Support and Assault lines
