Destroyed rare gear trying to repair...lock please.

I and many others have attempted to repair gear, just to find it destroyed off of our bodies. I'm calling *** ***. Put a damn lock mechanism on gear for the love of god. If you are going to put the repair function right next to the destroy (from my damn body) then give us the *** option to lock it. Normally I wouldn't curse, but I want you to get my point. Check my account, the money spent, and ask yourselves if you would rather me play a different game. This is long overdue. Cheers, TrashyRatchet.

Dude Right? The Destroy Option thing is TOO DAMN CLOSE to the repair thing. LOCK would be awesome but how about not even a destroy thingy IN THAT MENU?

Also, how many times have I R click, whisper a friend and block them? Too Many.

I'll save you the time of submitting a ticket... they won't restore it for you.

I deconstructed my legendary heavy divines kena helm by accident (much easier to do than destroying) and submitted a ticket asking if ZoS could restore it (or give me a purple, I didn't care). A friend of mine did this to his legendary well-fitted Kena helm and ZoS replaced it instantly... with Divines

Instead, I get a canned response saying something about the inspiration I gained from deconstructing it... nevermind the fact that my character is a master crafter. A little bit of the fanboy in me died that day.

Interesting, this has never happened to me.

Maybe because I dont rush in repairing things. Might actually do it once to feel the feels people are feeling in the feel world.

Totter, when they tried this with me when their UI literally bugged (we're talking several emails here too - it was my Nerieneth Hat Infused, by the way), I was not going to just take that, so I rang the USA phone number found on their website, where you can leave a voicemail. They rang me back left a message of contact time, then I got a mail after talking to the person.

ZOS: It is totally rubbish to even try to refuse to return something like this. No one in their right mind would decon their gold stuff *ON PURPOSE* and then write to you about it 5 mins later at most - no one is trying to cheat the (poorly designed) system.

I could see it if some long time had passed - but trust me - no one wants to trade their gold gear/monster items for ONE PIECE of material and stupid inspiration.

I accidentally deconstructed my legendary v16 julianos robe a while ago.

Using a heavy piece now but still that's like what 100k? Gold down the drain....

There seriously should be a restore item feature similar to WoW's, where you can restore a deleted/(deconstructed, too) item within the last week, and the restore cooldown could be like.... 48 hours, or something.

zos should add option to Type DELETE if you choose its in menu, and still make it insta-destoyed if you kicking it out of inventory by mouse.

If you delete trophies your given a 2 Second cool down, but if you delete anything else it's instant. I have deleted 40 wax, 7 temps and many many kuta splitting stacks and putting destroy by accident. And ZOS wouldn't do anything because the function worked correctly on game.

Destroy should be the last option in the menu. In all of them.

I've never done that, but I've sent group invites when I tried to travel to player.

My greatest nightmare is that I'll kick someone from guild instead of traveling to them.

I don't usually repair with kits, but sometimes you are in a dungeon run that's not going well and they come in handy. It's not unheard of that you'll hit the wrong option while chatting with people or trying to sort stuff out.

three common options:

Junk bag - eg fall out/dragons age. anything you want to delete has to be put into the junk bag for you to be able to straight out delete it. you can also vendor all your junk at once
Anything epic or legendary requiring you to click and hold for a few seconds to delete/deconstruct, there is no confirmation prompt any more though (similar to destiny)
Lock an item. a little tick box or lock box or press of a button when hovering over the item. now needs to be unchecked to delete.

At this point i think any of the above would be an improvement on the current UI

A similar destruction problem on consoles:

If you split something up and your inventory gets full,
the "split" command disappears and is replaced by the "destroy" command.

Therefore, wanting to split things up fast,
for example to spread it among friends, I sometimes destroyed it.

YES, please give us a LOCK feature, ZOS.

The more precious things I have,
the more worried I am that I accidentally destroy it.

Lol I should say "we" laughed about it together, he normally plays a tank, the staff was sitting in his bank in case he ever decides to make a healer. We did immediately do a dsa run after but no one got anything god to make up for it. Would have been totally different had it been a master sword which he'd actually use.

They do restore destroyed items, many.. of the people I know have had it done, they just had to keep sending tickets until they got a real response.

Agreed.. This option shouldn't even be in that menu. Way back when V14 was cap, I deconed a Lich pc and those aren't that easy to get.

All they would need to do is port this directly into the game and it would be perfect. I haven't done this since I installed this addon, so it should work perfectly.

@ZOS_GinaBruno, @ZOS_RichLambert, is there anyway that a "Do not Deconstruct" flag could be put on items in the bank that would be excluded from showing up on the crafting tables? It would be really nice if we could just click one little flag and then those things didn't even come up when we are deconstructing items. This should be simple enough programming to drop in any upcoming DLC. Hell, I would even pay for this with Crowns....

Always has to be at least one contrarian in the bunch.

It only takes once to push you over the ledge dude. Whether or not it has happened to you personally is beside the point. The point is that it has happened to many people and having those options that close and no option to lock items is just bad planning on the dev side.
